Great restaurant with amazing hosts!!
I was there for the first time but not the last.
I didn't know what to order so I was recommend to order what is on the pictures.
It was delicious and tasty!!
Would recommend to everybody to visit it!!
T.
Fantastic restaurant. The service and food can't be faulted. Emilio looked after us in every way possible. Very friendly and helped us through the menu. We don't get the same variety of food near home so it's always a real treat to try something new. The prices are very reasonable too

The most friendly people I met in Dublin! The food is excellent, especially if you listen to the recommendation how to eat it properly and the interior fits very well in its traditional style. I can deeply recommend to visit this place.

This is a great restaurant with wide range of food. I was here with my family once, I enjoyed the food and staff service. Food is warm and tasty. I enjoyed the atmosphere. I would recommend this place for anyone.

Go to place for Mediterranean food. Have been in the restaurant a few times and ordered food from here several times and the food never disappoints. People who work there are lovely. The Lamb skewers are succulent and falafel player is hearty.
Update:
Their quality hasn't been as great as it used to be. The hummus portion in falafel platter has been reducing consistently in their takeouts.

Absolutely delicious and the nicest waiting staff. This place has delicious Lebanese/Syrian food. Huge list of vegetarian options too. 5/5 for this restaurant!

Wonderful genuine authentic restaurant ! Very friendly staff and really good food. Love that they played gorgeous music that transported you to Damascus. The lighting was magical, lanterns of multifaceted eastern glass in muted colours. My first time there, it was lunch hour and they accommodated 5 of my friends, even without a reservation and made us all feel so welcome. They brought out complementary teas for us all, in a wonderful silver eastern teapot ! I will definitely be back. They cater for vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters, so everyone has an extensive menu to choose from. My nephew and his girlfriend, vegans, go there a lot. Prices are averaging 10 - 16 euro for a mains and they have a 2 course lunch for 11euro, do go and treat yourself ! 😀❤️

The soup was good but, too spicy and cold + The rice, hummus was very good and the chicken was unsalted + The knife wasn't clean + 3.25 for a small glass of Coca-Cola seems not fair

Went there for dinner with my boyfriend. Ordered the quail and chicken samosas for starters. Kabsah and chicken mansaf as mains. The food was okay not great. The chicken mansaf tasted like plain yogurt and rice. Expensive for the quality of food they serve. When we came in we felt very rushed. In the first 5 mins we were there, we got asked if we were ready to order like 5 times by 2 different servers. The bill came upto 55 euro including 2.50 corkage. Too expensive for the quality of food.

Definitely one of the best (if not the best) Middle Easter restaurant in Dublin.
+ Delicious, great quality food
+ Friendly and welcoming service
+ Cosy atmosphere with a great vibe

Really love it here. The owner, Gandhi, is a classic friendly character and a great host. The mezze are excellent and generously portioned. Delicious Syrian flatbread and olive oil with feta cheese. Interesting and unusual deserts (including baklava made by Gandhi himself). There is sometimes belly dancing in the evenings.

Lovely little Syrian gem on the outskirts of the city. Very tasty food and warm, friendly service.

Best service I have ever had at a restaurant. The man waiting our table was so so nice and eager to explain all the menu to us and make sure we enjoy it all it almost felt like I was having dinner at my grandma's. I'll certainly come back
E. P.
Excellent Arabic food. As someone who lived in Dubai for so long, this is the closest I've tasted in Ireland. Little pricey tho.
F. A.
middle eastern restaurant , authentic yet too much of herb and spices which take the meat taste out
hookah is being service outdoor seating's
I. V.
A nice place for a Syrian dinner. The dishes were tasty (falafels are delish!!) and the food was overall quite nice but a bit pricey and not quite as fine as we had expected. Overall a good meal. Service was excellent, 5* for that and restaurant mood very nice!
M. G.
Excellent food. Great Tabouli.
Efficient and friendly folks. Highly recommend.
C. U.
Average food & ambience, nothing outstanding, we ordered lamb mansaf and it was poor in taste, just a yogurt and lamb mixed together with some spice in it, nothing special about it but it was listed in their specials. Seating arrangement is family friendly and food was delivered very quick.
S.
I had a lovely experience. The food was amazing. The staff were so friendly and welcoming.
They weren't wearing any masks so I don't know how I feel about it but there were dividers inside.
N. A.
Great food, really enjoyed it. Amazing service and very authentic food. The gentleman who looked after us was very informative, knew his food well and certainly made us feel special. Thank you Damascus Gate.
M. K.
Due to Lockdown we have been seated in the small outside area. Service was quick and friendly. Ordered the Mezza to Share as a Starter and the Mixed Grill as the Main (The Waiter said this is a huge portion and great if you are very hungry. We found out it wasn't). The food was good but not special and could do with more flavour. The Portion size was medium, so you need to order more if you are hungry. Overall it was an okay experience but overpriced for what you get.
L. F.
Truly awesome experience. I went here to have something different from my norm. Not only did I have something different I was also delighted to have something delicious. I was especially fond of the appetizer platter we ordered with two flavors of hummus.
P. Y.
The food here is delicious and authentic. The falafels are some of the best in have eaten in a long while. The chicken skewers had juicy tender pieces of chicken . The only shortcoming was the garlic "mayo". I would not recommend going to crazy with the mayo, it's fine but nothing like the garlic sauces I usually expect at middle eastern restaurants. Still a solid meal and I would very much like to eat there again.
M. F.
Quite good food. Very large portion size and very good coffee after. Recommended for big family or friends so it has many options. Lovely atmosphere 👍🏼

Pretty sicko mode. Super delicious. I had my first pickled slice of carrot here, jinkies it was good. Would highly recommend the kabsa which is down as 'kabesh' on the menu.
N. C.
Every time I visit Dublin I always pop into this restaurant. The food and hospitality is superb!!
Highly recommend if you are visiting Dublin.

I came to this restaurant a lot . Have a lot of memories with it . Their food is simply one of the best . They use pemogranant reduction which gives you that extra kick . Fabulous fatouch salad . I simply really like everything they do
N. O.
Haven't been there since before lockdown! It's still amazing. Everything on the menu is a winner. The staff are super nice and make you feel welcome. What dining out is supposed to be! 🙂👍
A. Z.
Absolutely breathtakingly delicious and mouth watering. My first time ever was this summer and now I understand the hype. I'll go again and already reccomend this place to friends and family! Well done, keep up the standard.
K. N.
Automatic temperature measurement at the entrance, seats outside, food is amazing ...and was fast served and very hot. Add a nice white house wine. Perfect dinner.
K. J.
The food's incredible and the service is lovely; thoroughly recommend!
K. C.
Loved this place, staff are super friendly and willing to help/ recommend dishes for you to try, if you not entirely sure what to eat. Food was very tasty and the wide selection of dishes makes this a restaurant that I would really like to come back to.
L. P.
Food is absolutely amazing and also the service. And they have vegan options 🤩👏🏻

I had a wonderful experience dining here. Delicious middle eastern food and they have belly dance performance every Thursday.

This was my last meal of 2019 while on vacation here in Dublin. I'm not very familiar with Syrian food but from starters to desserts, every dish was on point. I hope to find more places like this in Toronto!
h. E.
One the best eastern restaurants I have tried in Ireland...strongly recommending it
k. l.
Excellent place middle eastern music and the atmosphere is really cozy, the waitress is very kind and the prices are really good too.I recommend the Jerusalem starter
M. G.
Having passed it's door many a time we finally dropped in for lunch recently. We should have done so sooner! Before even opening a menu I ordered babbaghanoush and bread (my standard way of comparing middle eastern fare). It was rich and smokey, perfect with the ultra thin flatbread, definitely one of the best if not THE best I've ever had. Once we opened the menu we also ordered the stuffed wine leaves with raita, pickles and olives. The stuffing's texture was very unexpected and really enjoyable, with a strong flavour that complemented the yogurt and cucumber dip and other pieces on the plate. My partner ordered a lamb dish in a rich yellow sauce with rice, although too fresh for my palette, it bowled my partner over. My own chicken and rice dish was spice coated with a mix of flavours that were new to me (which is rare) but definitely something I'd order again. We ate more than we should and couldn't think of dessert. When we told our server this he said no problem but have a coffee on the house at least. I'm not much of a coffee fan normally, but I would go out of my way to get someone to try this. A tiny shot of syrupy creamy liquid with a brown sugar cube, making for something very drinkable with a taste almost like the smell of pipe tobacco (in a good way). We'll definitely darken their door again and soon, I'd encourage you to do likewise.
S.
Great food and friendly service. Real honest authentic food. Would recommend. Thanks guys.
J. C.
Lovely atmosphere. Very friendly staff and good value. I was out for a walk with my partner and we stumbled upon this place. Would recommend visiting.
A. G.
Delicious food. Great friendly service. Try the Lebanese wine!
F. B.
The most delicious meal I've had in a long time the mezza platters are to die for and even though the baklava was lacking, the service was excellent and the music and setting were perfect. Cant wait to go back
P. A.
Very friendly owners with a beautiful Golden Retriever! Great food and beautifully renovated patio
C. G.
Lovely staff. Amazingly food & great Turkish coffee. Would highly recommend this restaurant :-)
M. O.
Amazing food. Great portions, cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. Great service, very friendly and helpful. Great value
E. B.
Super. Big thanks to chief Abo Ali for his beautiful attitude and high quality service!
L. O.
Delicious Middle Eastern food, and at a reasonable price. They had great vegan options all of which were clearly specified in their menu, which helped us find the right choice for us.
M. S.
The food is lovely, but the service certainly needs improvement. It is super slow there.
L. G. B.
Delicious and tasteful. A little bit expensive, but good amount!
S. V.
This place is wonderful and highly recommended.
I went here with a group of 4 other people and we were looked after so well.
The food was incredible. I had the Chicken Shish Taouq, which is mouth-wateringly good and the veggie starter platter - very good too.
D.
Was surprised it was busy on a Sunday so gave me an indication the restaurant must be good and it was indeed. Food was great and the service equally as great! Would definitely come back here if I visit Dublin again
B. T. K.
Really tasty food, great and friendly service.
L. T.
Good vegetarian options. Great client service. Delicious lentil soup and halloumi cheese.
A. C.
Tasty food. Nice atmosphere. Corkage is €2.50 on wine but ALSO €2.50 per bottle of beer! Be careful if you are a beer drinker
D. P.
Wonderful Mezze and lovely lamb and chicken dishes. The place was full to capacity and food arrived quickly. Staff were super friendly. Enjoyed the Beirut beer.
A. S.
Good food, lovely ambience and wonderful service. The portions were on the smaller side. Place is cosy so book in advance. Baklava was fantastic!
T. P.
I took my wife here on her birthday and it was a great choice. Staff is nice and attentive and gave us good meal recommendations. Food was very well prepared, not too oily or salty, nicely spiced with Middle Eastern spices. Wife was delighted. Plenty of vegan options was definitely a plus, but I equally enjoyed the chicken in rich tomato sauce with chickpea. Very good Covid-19 measurements.
N. K.
A great selection of lovely authentic Syrian food, very flavorsome.
Beer on tap.
A. C.
Enjoyed brilliant middle eastern food. Definitely try out the platter here

Every time I go here I fall in love with the place a little bit more. From the food to the decor and service, it is all outstanding. Thanks for giving us a great night on Saturday and being so accommodating as usual.
C. K.
Four of us went to Damascus Gate for a birthday celebration last Friday. COVID regulations were strict, the atmosphere was gorgeous, the food was incredible and the service was unbeatable! It all felt very safe, and really helped us relax and enjoy our meal. Emilio was a dream and an absolute joy. We brought our own wine, and at the end of the meal the waiters gave the birthday boy a Fez hat and brought our dessert out with a lit candle to sing happy birthday! Would 100% recommend this place. Will be going back soon. Beautiful!!
P. Q.
I love their food range of charcoal grill. Taste of the food is just perfect. ♥️
J. L. G. M.
Amazing food and lovely people taking care of customers :)
A. K.
Super friendly staff. Good ethnic wines and teas. Food lacking flavour. A bit flat.
O. Ó. D.
Myself and my wife visited this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon, about 16:30, without reservation. We were given a choice of seats and service was attentive. We had a three course meal, with wine and coffee, and it came to €98.60. The food was very tasty and the portions were good. The owner/manager was very attentive and courteous, and the restaurant had almost filled up before we left. I'd go again.
E. H.
Heavenly food, pleasant, attentive waiters.
S.
Good food and beautiful ambience! We had Jerusalem Mezze for starters and we enjoyed it. They make super tasty Falafel, hummus and baba ganoush. Main course was ok. Most of the their main course dishes were quite bit tangy side for our taste.
Service was good and friendly staff. We enjoyed our evening in this pretty looking restaurant.
A. D.
Great staff, the food was a delightful explosion of flavours. Loved it
M. J.
Perfectly delicious food and great service.
S. K.
One of the best places in the city! Food is amazing and the grill menu is to die for! Staff is really kind and they always go out od their way to make you feel welcomed. Can't wait to go again!!!!

First time to order, food was amazing. Side salad so fresh, chicken was marinated really tasty, ideal for these warm Summer evening. Would highly recommend, I can't wait to try another dish from their menu.

Fresh, tasty food. Relaxed atmosphere and lovely staff. Lunch menu 2 courses for 12 is fab.
R. T.
Excellent Restaurant, food was outstanding, staff were delightful.
Our party were spoilt with great wine, champagne & delicious variety of food. Deserts were too good.
With the friendliness and efficiency of staff & a relaxed atmosphere we'll definitely be back!
Highly recommended!
C. D.
Wonderful food, reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I'm also a vegan who was eating with a meat-eating friend the last time I ate here, and this restaurant could cater to our dietary preferences but also offering plenty of choices for us both, which is something that is relatively uncommon and I very much appreciate. The atmosphere really rounded out the whole experience, and I am absolutely certain that I'll be eating here again very soon - highly recommend that you give it a try.
P. B.
What an amazing restaurant. We felt so safe our temperature was taken upon arrival. We were a big group and we cabt be easy but the staff were so accomaditing and attentive. They really made our night
A. a.
I had a wonderful experience at the Restaurant. First of all I had the attention of the restaurant owner. Explaining me all the details and varieties of Lebanese food. I could really feel myself in a high level of quality restaurant. The staff are very attentive and try to give their best always. The food was just amazing, very tasty indeed. Just like all my friends that recommend said. It was hard to get a dessert, because I was very full. But then I just fall in love with the tea selection that they had. So I couldn’t resist an almond coconut tea. Just perfect as I thought it was going to be. I’m coming back soon.
O. H.
Great food but a bit pricey
I. I.
Nice place to eat traditional Mediterranean food with very good service. But prices are way too much for the quality and quantity. I would highly recommend to do your research and think that why you want to go to this restaurant? Because you can have same service and food for almost 40% cheaper at other local cousine. Place is small and not for the date or family visit.
S. B.
I ate here last night with my boyfriend and gorged myself to the point of stomach ache. As a picky eater it's a credit to the chef that I was practically licking tabouleh off the plates.
The hummus was exceptional, the chicken I think the best I've ever had and the rice.... I didn't know rice could taste like that. In short everything was cooked to perfection.
The service was excellent. Our host was very attentive and even gave us a bottle of beer each on the house just because I ran after him with something he dropped. All the waitresses and waiters were well presented and smiley.
Also - they offer a bring your own beer option which was brilliant.
The atmosphere was mostly informal due to the nature of the meals we were eating... (hummus, kebabs, olives etc) though the service was quite formal.
All in all I would highly recommend this to anybody. Vegetarians in particular should take note as they offer an entire page of vegetarian options
Thank you ! We'll be back!
Y. S.
Authentic, delicious food in a quiet spot with wonderful service
C. D.
I highly recommend this restaurant. The welcome and service from all the staff was exceptional. The ambience was very relaxed and comfortable. The food was fresh and delicious with a wide range of options.

Great place. Excellent service. Delicious food. Best Makloube ever 😊
L. U.
I tried this place for a Birthday celebration and it was really good. Staff was accomodating and nice.
Food is delicious. I would recommend the platters for sharing are the best if you are in a group.
J. F.
Really nice place lovely friendly staff snd tasty food
J. M.
My favourite restaurant, delicious food, a lot of variety that suit vegetarians and meat lovers. generous dishes with reasonable prices.you can bring your own wine. The Service is excellent and staff very friendly and helpful.lovely selections of traditional tea.
A. T.
This is a wonderfully authentic experience. The food is fresh and sumptuous with plenty of vegetarian options. The Mousaka in particular is noteworthy, served with vermicelli and rice its quite different to namesake dishes at other middle eastern restaurants in Dublin. Throw in the sheesha area out front and the small but good variety of teas and the experience is complete. Bit on the pricier side with most mains between 20 and 25 euro. Worth it though.
A. D. A. H.
We had a lovely meal at the restaurant with friend and kids and we all had a great and splendid time here. Waitress were friendly and professional as well as the owner. The food was to die for from the starters to the main course and the desserts and Arabic tea and coffee. Everything about this place was 5 stars and A star service. Shukren (Thank you)
R. G.
Really nice food & ambiance!
S. M.
A good and gorgeous surprise just around the corner at Camden Street. The food is fresh, delicious and affordable. The plates are good to share, good portions. Full and rich of flavor, the best hummus that I ate in my entire life. The dishes with lamb are also a good option too. My husband and I usually go there once a week and it was never disappointing. Just go and ask for the manager for a recommendation for you, as it is your first time at the restaurant. He will give you good and honesty options.
W. A.
My favourite restaurant, delicious food, a lot of variety that suit vegetarians and meat lovers. generous dishes with reasonable prices.you can bring your own wine. The Service is excellent and staff very friendly and helpful.lovely selections of traditional tea. the ambiance is superb. Highly recommended 5 stars restaurant.
S. E.
Very friendly staff, reasonable prices, food cooked to perfection (tastes exactly as it should compared to authentic Lebanese and Palestinian dishes). Best to book a table in advance just to be sure you will be seated. Shisha (hookah) was fantastic, tobacco free. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Definitely will be returning
A. N. S.
Been here a few times. Definitely loved this place the fi sy couple of times I went. Got so inspired that I actually made one of the dishes. Went back in December of 2019 around Christmas. The food was of bad quality interns of taste and the quantity. Was quite disappointed. Not sure if was Christmas menu or just the standards gone down.
It's BYOB.
S. S.
Currently serving take away pints, mulled wine, baileys hot chocolate and lots of other treats which are all gorgeous. The staff are always so welcoming and warm too 🌟
m. b.
Visiting Dublin for a few days. Very happy to have found this place. Thoroughly enjoyed the Jerusalem Mezze platter (vegetarian). One of the best middle Eastern meals I've enjoyed. Staff were very kind and attentive. They even gave me a small dessert on the house! Really lovely.
T. P.
Very unique experience. Wefelt very welcome from the start. Staff were really patient and explained the different dishes to us. There starter platters are great to try different foods. Main courses and deserts were so tasty and different. We will definitely go again
H. A.
I am a returning customer and I must say that the service was amazing as usual. All the staff is very friendly and the food never disappoints. Always happy to return and bring new friends with me. It's turning into my favourite restaurant to visit in the area... very very happy with the overall experience
P. B.
Really enjoyed this. Food was very tasty, relaxed atmosphere. BYO but the Lebanese wine on the menu was fantastic so didn't need to nip out across the road. Service good too.
J. H.
Great atmosphere. Great food. Lovely people and service. I have been here on many occasions and have had a great experience each time.
C. M.
we bought some vouchers on their website, we called, booked and checked if the vouchers were usable on Saturday and they said yes, the voucher deal included 3 courses meal, a glass of wine for two, once we got there they said that because it was Saturday we couldn't use it as a deal , but that they could be only use it as a credit note basically taking off the money value of the voucher from the bill. we thought that it was totally unfair so we spoke with the manager/owner Gandhi and he was very helpful and at the end after a long chat he agreed to accept the vouchers as a deal. The food was amazing, big portions and very tasty. The waitress were rude in their manners.
T.
Excellent food. Currently the best I tried in Dublin. The food is so tasty and delicious. It was full of flavour and fragrance. The portions are pretty nice so I you don't want to be overstuffed don't take platter for the starter. At the end we couldn't finish our main dish. The prices for dinner are reasonable and they have bring your boose concept. The staff was friendly and the place is nicely decorated but it is a bit crowded. But surely coming here again.
M. C.
Excellent meal brilliant staff. Had a lovely meal. Had Beirut mezze to start and three different main courses. All excellent and very generous portions. All served with the most beautiful rice and lovely salad and hummus. Lovely Syrian tea and cake with semolina to finish. Can't fault it. Five stars well deserved
S. V. L.
Honestly, reeaally enjoyed all the food. We. I'll return for sure !
M. A.
Great food, great service, premium location, nice atmosphere, excellent menu
D. H.
Absolutely delicious food, best Mediterranean I had in Dublin so far. Big portions, great for sharing and a good place for vegans too <3
Tea selection is also very special!
Staff is very attentive.
Owner is a bit cranky but overall is a beautiful atmosphere to dine at an affordable cost.
D. C.
It was my first time tasting Syrian and Lebanese food and I will do it again. The restaurant has an extremely inviting and cozy atmosphere. Food was great (nice portions and quality) and prices are reasonable. The staff is very friendly and patient in explaining you the dishes.
J. C.
What called my attention in my first visit to this beautiful restaurant is the care that owner and employees have in turn you into a habitué. The food have a.wonderful taste. Is well prepared with Arabian herbs and spices and the portions are generous. Dessert and coffee is definitely a must try.
T. T.
Excellent authentic Middle Eastern food, good value, nice atmosphere and super friendly manager & waitress. Highly recommended.
s. m.
Beautiful food, lovely staff. I got take away from here last night and was given a free coke while I waited. Atmosphere was great in the restaurant. Most importantly the food was delicious.
A. B.
The food was bland and not appetizing
J. C. H.
Food was excellent, although one of the dishes was a little bland and required seasoning. The service was excellent also. A couple of gripes I had was that the table water was actually bordering on hot and the front door always remained ajar, and in 4 degree weather, that was a bit uncomfortable.
Overall, I would definitely go back, the value for money was great and the food and service was also great.
T. K.
The best food I've ever tasted. Highly recommended. Lovely staff, friendly & polite. Beautiful atmosphere. Great music. The owner greets you as you arrive. A very simple & humble man.. I will be back...
M. K.
I went there today with other 2 families and as usual, the people are nice especially the Italian gentleman who was very welcoming, the mixed grills was good, as well as the potatoes, however I didn’t like the lentil soup at all, and the Kenafa was very bad, it’s like custard with a pinch of Konafa on top, not really Syrian or Lebanese
K. P.
Good food, friendly staff
C. C.
I can't spell the dish I just had at this resturant but is consisted of beautiful spiced chicken rice and vegetables. My first Syrian experience and this resturant was fantastic. A lovely lady looking after us, Angela took time and effort to chat. Thank you I will be back.
M. Z.
Excellent food. Quality, service, all perfect. Authentic selection of dishes. This is the best Syrian/Lebanese restaurant in Dublin. Also the portions are generous!
K. M.
Generous portions amidst ethnic setting. Lamb was well flavoured and tender. Staff were very attentive and professional but not particularly warm. Still it was Tuesday night so maybe they save their exubetance for weekend customers.
G. S.
Not great service from one of the waitresses. We asked can we swap rice for something else and she angrily replied "for what? ". On the other hand the waitress who showed us the table was very nice. Food average, not much taste.Glad we tried it but most likely we won't go back.
i.
Delicious food and a perfectly sized menu witb a good variety but not overwhelming. Very decent shisha/hookah though they only offer apple flavour. It's still pricey like other Lebanese restaurants and the portion sizes are small.
S. F.
Amazing food, friendly staff
J. O.
Very friendly staff. Temperature checked on arrival and dividers between tables.
Food was delicious and there was a great selection for vegetarians and vegans. Will definitely be back.
C. W.
Dinner for two on Sat 24th June 2016.
I can't say enough about this wonderful restaurant. Booking a table was really easy. We were welcomed on arrival by a very pleasant member of staff and directed to our table. The food was delicious. I have certain dietary requirements and I have to say that nothing was too much trouble for the chef to accommodate me. The owner was there and he went around the tables greeting diners - what a delightful touch. The coffee afterwards was to die for. Such was the atmosphere of the restaurant that we lingered for 2 1/2 very pleasant hours over our meal.
Overall the food, service, ambiance and value for money were exemplary. We will definitely return and recommend to anyone
B. C.
One of my favourite places to eat in Dublin! Wide variety of foods to eat suitable for all diets and equally delicious! The staff are attentive and friendly, the interior interesting and authentic. I do prefer sitting at the front of the restaurant as I find the back too bright, so if you are booking keep that in mind. It's not the cheapest place but I can promise you that you get bang for your buck here!
J. C.
Lovely place and excellent food. I only gave three stars because when I went to the bathroom before the meal, when I sat down to use the toilet the seat slipped off the bowl (it wasn't secured properly) and I ended up tearing something in my back. I reported it to management who were very sympathetic and checked on my wellbeing a couple of times during the meal. Unfortunately as I was in such discomfort it was hard to enjoy the food. I had the meal boxed to have tomorrow when I hope to feel better. Before we left (my wife and I) the manager took my name and number and said she would call me tomorrow to see how I'm doing, which was nice. A sign was put on the toilet, warning of the loose seat and it is to be repaired as soon as possible. A lovely evening spoiled by a faulty seat. Ah well, nobody died!
S. D.
Great food with very generous portions! Great hosts. They’ve just opened another one so looking forward to going and seeing if the atmosphere and service are the same. For now, love the Camden street hosts!
c. r.
Top quality food but the serves was extremely slow and when we asked to see the dessert menu the waitress went to get it but instead we were only presented with the bill. We assumed this was because the restaurant was closing and staff had simply neglected to tell us this, but as we were leaving it was clear that other tables were only being served main curses. Having been left waiting such a long time to be served our food it was somewhat insulting to be pushed out the door so quickly
S. P.
Wonderful food. Great for groups of mixed eaters. So vegans, veggie and carnies can all enjoy a meal. BYO makes it great value too.
P. A.
One of its kind place.. I loved the authentic food, wine and top of all the very friendly staff. Portions are huge and lots of options are available for vegan/vegetarian diet as well.
L. S.
I’m in love with this restaurant ♥️💕

What a lovely place. I stopped in only for a coffee today and I was treated as if I was their most valued customer having a full meal. The owner was lovely and the other staff so hospitable. If I wasn't leaving Dublin tomorrow I would go back for a meal. So enjoyable
E. R. M.
Delicious and unique food, interesting decor, and friendly staff. The Syrian cheese is highly recommended, as is the warm cheesecake. (I wasn't planning on staying for dessert, but the tea tray proved too tempting!)
Y. A. T.
Lovely Authentic Syrian Food!
Y. H.
Food was great, and complimented by the service. Definitely coming back here! They also have different options for exotic teas so if you are a huge fan for tea then you will be mesmerized here. Great place!
W. D.
I have eaten here a number of times and have never been disappointed. Great food, great service and the price is very reasonable. It's also "bring your own beverage" so we brought in a bottle of wine each time. Also, don't forget to check out their selection of teas!
Will be back
M. I.
I come from Vancouver, Canada and spoiled with having a wide range of cuisines to choose from at literally my doorsteps but had never tried Syrian food before and was curious. I tried Mansaf and some sort of salad (don't remember it's name). They were very tasty and delicious. Their menu seems to have good veriaty. Will definitely come back while in Dublin and try to find Syrian restaurants in Vancouver when I'm back. Staff are very friendly and personable too. Nice middle eastern decor. The only con I see is that It's a bit pricey.
B. M.
Thoroughly impressed with this place. Stopped in for dinner after work one night and upon walking in the door, I was in awe of the beautiful decorations and light fixtures. The staff was very friendly and willing to offer helpful suggestions since I was unfamiliar with Lebanese food. I ended up ordering the chicken mansaf, a glass of merlot, and the knafeh, all of which were delicious. The knafeh was not like the American style cheesecake to which I'm accustomed, but it was still tasty. I would recommend this place to locals and travelers alike. It was a memorable dinner and I'd visit again.
L. O. D.
Fabulous food. Healthy options too.
Great service.
The only fault I could give it is the slightly cramped seating. It didn't affect us so much.
5 stars are definitely achieved at this establishment!
g. m.
Very nice place to eat with a light Syrian music and they serve a great arabian food with a good variety.
S. B.
Best Lebanese I’ve ever had. I went with my brother and we had the Aram mezza. It was beautiful. The falafel was delightful and the kibeh was excellent. The staff was super friendly and the manager was a pure gentleman. All in all, a great dining experience. Will definetly come back.
I. P.
I love this place. Nice atmosphere. Very good food and friendly staff. I am going there every week and you just can't get tired of this place. The manager is a lovely guy and always present to make sure everything is ok.
D. G.
Very tasty food and the staff were lovely.
We were there as a group of 4. Everyone ordered something different so we all picked and poked around. Well worth it!
T. M.
Hookah power. Great staff. Delicious food
The hookah is the best I've had in Dublin. Sometimes there aren't a lot of flavors but there's always apple, which is delicious. The staff is great and professional -- even the owner is very engaged and friendly with everyone. And the food! It's absolutely delicious and authentic -- even the vegetarian options are excellent. The hummus, shish kebab, and falafel are my personal favorites but you'll be safe with any choice. Finally, I really enjoy the decoration and vibe of the place, and highly recommend it!
C. E.
Very tasty and great service!
I. F.
Had an excellent family dinner two weeks ago. Called on Friday night for a table and Ghandi (owner) was very accommodating. Food might seem pricey but you get what you pay for really. Ghandi made our little one feel welcome on a full house with ice cream cone and kids books. Now the food, it's hands down one of the best Mediterranean restaurant in Dublin but to really appreciate this place you need to go for something beyond the "grill" section like Mansaf or Kibbeh b Laban. These are difficult dishes to make and it shows the quality of ingredients used and expertise of the chef.
J. C.
Really delicious food, the service can be a little slow if you're on your lunch break, but the staff are super friendly! Definitely worth a visit!
W. J.
Best middle eastern Syrian food
F. d. C.
A great place to enjoy a Lebanese food and shisha. There is a beautiful and friendly belly dancer every Thursday showing about their culture and also all staff are friendly. I had a great time over there but I recommend book a table online before to go, it's a busy place.
A. T.
It's a must visit for everyone who cherishes smoking shisha. Has a very nice and warm eating area outside, where you can smoke shisha and enjoy their mint tea or desert wine.
The music for me was the most authentic element. They also have a nice dine-in area but I never tried the food, so you must read other review for it.
Enjoy!
M. E.
Ate here at the weekend with friends. The food was top class, and the restaurant itself is very unique and relaxed. We arrived at 8 and couldn't believe it was so late when we left, the time flew by. The staff are really friendly & helpful also. Will be back! Thanks! :)
C. C.
Exceptional customer service. Deliveroo decided not to deliver so I collected at the restaurant. The owner was very welcoming and the food was ready extremely fast. He provided extra spiced potatoes (which were delish) along with complementary drinks. Went above and beyond to cater for the customer. The food was great as it always is particularly the baba ghanouj and the chicken mansaf. Can't praise the owner enough, really nice guy.
C. W.
The food and feel is authentic. The staff really make the place though! So friendly, a very welcoming and inclusive feel. Get the Syrian stew. Can't reccomend the placr enough.
E. R.
Food was excellent and good value, the staff were really friendly.
A. T.
Nice decor. Good service. The food is very good. The menu has numerous selections and choices. The lamb was super soft, delicate and delicious. Recommend.
A. C.
I stopped here for a solo meal and was well impressed. Sit inside to take a trip to the Middle East. The owner is a very positive person and imparted some wisdom to me which had a lot of resonance. Food for the body and mind.
A. M.
The Proprietor has worked hard at creating a relaxed ambience culturally resonant with the authentically prepared Arabic cuisine. Additionally, unlike some other Arabic restaurants, these folks serve very generous portions indeed - right from the starters all the way through to the desserts.
This element of portion size is a particular bugbear of mine as many ethnically oriented restaurants pitch their prices generally around the same ball park but vary widely in the generosity of their portions, quality of their food (cuts of meat, freshness of vegetables) and the distinctiveness of their flavours.
It was most gratifying therefore to find all these elements come together synergistically here with apparent ease, a sure mark of a proficient team at work. Whilst the prices are moderate the quality & quantity of food more than compensate, as do the excellent staff. Some unique presentations - such as the varieties of tea beverages add perfectly to a fine & memorable evening.
S. L.
Superb resteraunt, the food is amazing and the staff are so attentive. This is the best place to eat on camden street, hands down!!
s. f.
Great Lebanese/Middle Eastern food. Loved the texture / portion / quality over price of the dishes. Lovely black tea with mint. Avoid the ice-cream, really not their strong suit.
D. F.
Dinner at the Damascus Gate really is a treat. The waiters are very friendly and always good for a joke/laugh. From the moment you enter the restaurant you will feel welcomed. I really enjoyed our stay and the food was as delicious as you would expect from Lebanese kitchen. Thanks a lot!
V. S.
Excellent food, great customer service fantastic atmosphere! It's a must go
J. A.
Lovely food and great staff
O. J.
I love this restaurant! They have delicious food, beautiful decor, and a lovely atmosphere. I left with a very satisfying food baby and no regrets.
T. M.
Great place to eat. Lovely food, great staff and a very different experience to what you would get anywhere else in Dublin. If you love hummus this is the place for you!
G. R.
Lovely food, great atmosphere and the service is exceptional! The manager is always present and aware of your needs. The taste of the food is wonderful! Will definitely be back!
E. M.
Great food and the Italian waiter was so helpful recommending dishes to try and was so welcoming. The place was packed which says a lot and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend!
A. O. B.
Great service, lovely atmosphere. I'd highly recommend any of the desserts - we tried the Ferrero Roche cake and the basbosa. I'm definitely going for their Knafeh next time.
D. V.
Excellent food and a great atmosphere. Super friendly and helpful staff who are more than willing to answer any question regarding the menu.
R. A.
Very nice and cousy place.
The staff makes you feel like a guest not a costumer.
The food is good. place does not get noisy even when packed.
The shisha is one of the best in dublin. (outside but in a glass cube with terras heating)
R. E.
If you want to be absolutely pampered, you’ve come to the right place. The food here is amazing, and the wait staff is so accommodating and engaging. You must try the Syrian cheesecake, just do it.
F.
Amazing food and service. The staff is always very friendly and the portions are generous. Totally advised!
c. B.
The food was very good and fresh. Very friendly and helpful staff. Strongly recommend.
P. S. A.
Perfect staff, perfect food.
R. I.
Tasty dishes and Cosy atmosphere.
Surprised to find the place where traditional Syrian/Lebanese dishes are prepared with similar taste as you find originally from that area.
Cosy atmosphere and tasty variety of dishes.
Enjoyed the smoke of Shisha outside

We had a group of six looking for a place for dinner that could accommodate meat eaters as well as a vegan and vegetarian. While this can be a difficult task for a group of foodies like us, the Damascus Gate did an excellent job. Everyone in the group absolutely loved and enjoyed their meal. The service and food both exceeded our expectations. While we only have three nights in Dublin, we are hoping to find time for another meal with them.
S. N. M.
I posted this last week though the initial visit was two months ago, slow! Visited again last night and a seriously good heart and food experience. Food was so tasty (I want to cook this at home!), Emilio was a superb host! Thank you Damascus, go raibh mile maith agaibh!
A. C.
Great food. Very pleasant and engaging staff. A very interesting selection of tea! Well worth a visit and we will be back again.
V. M.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff!!! Amazing food! Food lovers this is the place you must go!
C. A.
I've been here several times.
The food is always fresh and tasty and the service is really good, the staff is quick and attentive and the owner is always ready to give suggestions about the menu. One of my preferred spots in Dublin.
R. D. B.
The waiter started the night by explaining the menu and making the best recommendations. Then he served us the best wine that he had.
It is a chic place, with a very nice atmosphere!
C. G.
Best Lebanese food in town! Delicious dishes and exquisite customer service. You can bring your own wine which is great!! desserts are a must! 😄
N. B.
Fab meal for3 here July 28th 2020. Couldn't do enough for us. Food beautiful. Hoping to return later this week it was so good. Try it.
E. S.
By far the best Middle Eastern restaurant in Dublin! Fresh food (hummus is spot on) and good service. As a vegetarian it is exciting to have so many options, where there is also variety for my boyfriend to get some meat!
J. P.
We were passing by and decided to take lunch here. Good outdoor sitting, Food is delicious, waitress was such a nice host.
P. M.
Good service. We went for lunch and we asked for a dish to be shared for 3 people. It was tasty but the portions were mean. Not good value for money
D. H.
Best place to go sit down have a coffee or an evening meal. Service is fantastic. You are made feel right at home. Even to meet the owner Ghandi is a reason to go to this lovely place. I always feel like a vip with his warm welcome and excellent service
C. L. C.
The service was as good as the food, outstanding. Packed full of flavour and authenticity. It's my new favourite place to go. A must visit!

We got here with a group of 10 as a work team-event. We got the best welcome, food is excellent and the service was one of the best in Dublin. What a nice person!!!!
S. A.
Nice and exotic flavors in the Damascus Gate, however so close to home. Tried several dishes and all were really delicious and well cooked. Highly recommend for a different dinning experience.
E. E.
Great place and food. Lovely staff. Never tried Syrian food before but now that I did, I'm sure to come for more :)
A. K.
The food, tea, wine and shisha after is just perfect! I love that place and my favourite is the mixed kebabs from mains and literally any starter is great, the mezzas to share is a great idea ! They should expand though ;)
D. K.
Great food and service! Had a fun vibe to the place. We got there later than we expected and we just about had the place to ourselves
A. D.
Delicious food and a very respectful and attentive owner! He looked after every small detail so our experience here was perfect! Would highly recommend
M. K.
Come here often for the coffee and Ghandi. The cappuccino and the relaxed atmosphere is perfect for a lunch time break. I was here yesterday evening for a meal for my girlfriends birthday. It was made a fantastic evening. The food the service was second to none. Was looked after all evening by the owner Ghandi who went out of his way to help celebrate her birthday. He came out with a complimentary dessert with candles and sang happy birthday. thank you for such a great evening
D. B.
Wow 5 star amazing food staff along with the owner a credit to the restaurant.

Very good place, good Lebanon food, mezze , kebab etc. Goid atmosphere and nice service and staff. The wine unfortunately was too warm, as they keep it next to the kitchen .... too bad!

C. S.
I love this place. Nice atmosphere. Very good food and friendly staff. Thanks for the vegetarian options. For sure I'm going return to this place, again.
C. R.
Disappointed with main course, too much yogurt in the sauce. Starter sharing plate was lovely. Only had a set Xmas menu which was overpriced.
N.
Phenomenal food plates and mains around the 15-20e price range. I recommend the Mezzes as a shared starter. Decor is excellent and staff is friendly
M. W.
This place took me back to Lebanon, their meals are so authentic I literally was nostalgic. Absolutely delicious, and their service was very good.
B. I.
Supe4 place to eat. Lovely lovely food and BYOB policy makes it very reasonable. Lovely staff too and generous portions as well. Always mice to go there.
H. F.
Lovely food!
F. M.
What a great place. Amazing food and hospitality. Classic and clean, and delicious. The lamb wrap is a lot better than Zaytoon and cheaper too :) highly recommended
O. O.
Food was good, although I'm not sure if it was really vegan since the vegetarian waitress was clueless and unwilling to find out. Good portion sizes.
c. s.

T. A.
Super cute and cosy top floor restaurant. Excellent food and delicious cocktails, perfect for a date night!
R. W.
The menu was inaccurate, especially the prices - they were about 30% higher in real life than on the menu. The food is ok. The service was very lovely.

j. K.
Nice place and good service
The squid was terrifically good
Their spice and herb are quite fragrant and refreshing
If you like light yogurt based curry you would enjoy their aromatic named dishes
A. A.
Warm welcome. Buzzing on a Wednesday night. Recommendations were welcome and wonderful.
They even do Guinness. Hard to fault.
Reasonable prices too.
A. B.
Really great food with some of the kindest and nicest people working there. If you saved for dessert I highly recommend the carrot cake.
А. М.
Coffee and cuisine is pretty good, although this isn't the place you'd want to get shisha from. 13 euros for poorly constructed shishas ( pipe always falls off) and the taste is pretty bad.
J. F.
I was surprised to find this place has lots of vegan options, great authentic middle eastern food and for a pretty good price.
A. E.
Delicious and fresh food. Super nice staff! Coming again for sure!
G. A.
