S. C.Our experience was mixed. We didn't order starters as decided we wanted to go with a main and desserts. 2 courses are €40.50 with a €5 supplement for the steak. I ordered the steak medium well. It came with a stuffed porcini mushroom and pomme frites. The steak was nice but a bit grizzly and tough. I recommend ordering the potatoes instead of the pomme frites and a portion of vegetables as none come with the steak.
The dessert was by far the highlight. Our sincere compliments to the dessert chef. We ordered the chocolate fondant and the creme brulee accompanied by the flirtini and a salted caramel espresso martini which has a rum base. Highly recommend.

T. L.I think my expectations for Peploe's may have been too high going in, which essentially set me up for a bit of disappoinment. I'll start with the good. The location is pretty central and convenient enough to get to since it's right by St. Stephen's Green. The staff was also very friendly and responsive.
Now on to the less than stellar part of my meal. The place was really loud, so if you're going here with others, be prepared to scream at each other in order to be heard. There was a really loud guy sitting at the table next to me and I swear he had to have broken the ear drum of the guy next to him with how loudly he was screaming. That said, this is out of the restaurant's control, so I'm not dinging them for this. This is more of a PSA so folks know the kind of dining environment they're stepping into.
Now on to the food, which was pretty underwhelming. The portions were very generous and the flavors were decent, but I guess I was expecting more given the great reviews I had read about this place. The tuna tartare didn't taste fresh and my steak was drowning in the peppercorn sauce. For a steak dish, it's pretty sad when the watercress is there star of the dish. Overall, I thought it was just a very average dining experience.

P. P.A bit overrated. Ordered a steak, while decently cooked, it lacked flavor of other places. Wine and good generally way too expensive considering the quality you get. We ate at a similar restaurant the following day for half price, with much better tasting food. Kind of flavorless and lacking nuance.
B. O.We had a really pleasant visit for dinner a birthday treat. I found my choice of food delicious. The service as you'd expect great A little mix up with our dessert order didn't spoil our enjoyment. Hope to have lunch some time in the summer.
N. Z.The customer service here is outstanding. We came for simple coffee outside on the terrace. We were rather scruffily dressed and as this is a very high end respectable establishment I was a bit nervous we would be frowned upon. However we were treated as if we were there to have a full 4 course dinner. The employees were welcoming and incredibly respectful. I'm not sure what I was expecting to happen. I suppose I was imagining the scene in pretty woman and be turned away because of my attire! The coffee was exceptional as well.

G. O.I've being to Peploes before & really enjoyed my dining experience. So I decided to treat my partner on our date night.
Unfortunately, this time round, I didn't have the same experience. In particular the steak I order. I'm no chef by any means, but when you feel you could do a better job there's something not right. Plus, it came with some sort of aubergine paste of some sort that has no business being on a steak. The crème brûlèe too wasn't very appetising either.
Other than that, the staff & service was really good.

What I didn’t like was the way my steak had been served - a piece of meat covered in brown jus placed on a white plate. I believe I would’ve done it better myself and I’m far from being a chef. The chef should’ve put more effort into serving the dish for the price we paid.

M. C.To celebrate a family occasion we booked Peploes. The staff were so courteous and as requested reserved a lovely table for 8 of us. The premises is just off Grafton street next to the St Stephen's green in Dublin. Its located at a slightly lower level to the street accessed by a few steps down. The decor is modern but very comfortable and classy. No expense spared
A very attractive small bar greets you on arrival...a lady relieves you of your coats and umbrellas. The toilets are spacious, absolutely spotless and smell beautifully. The decor inside the toilets is also lovely. The food was delicious. Not a large menu but enough to appease all hungry punters. The Black sole was 5 star ! My sister swooned over her chocolate fondant dessert. Their house champagne is gorgeous and not over priced ( Thankfully)..However they do not serve pint glasses of draft beer ,just small glasses at 6 euro each...that we found expensive.
The main meal averages 34 euro and sides 5 euro each.A bit on the expensive side as they also charge for BREAD.

C. P.I went to Peploe's for a brunch for my friend's birthday. The staff was very attentive and friendly and the location was lovely. Only thing I need to point out is that they did not have two mains in the menu, and I think they should have pointed it out beforehand. Although the food was delicious and overall was a good value for money.

H. T.My husband and I were visiting Dublin last week (Dec 15th 2017). An old friend suggested Peploe's for dinner. We asked the concierge to book us a table. It was short notice and Christmas time but he managed to get us (and my friend) in around 9:00pm. We arrived early and they were very accommodating by sitting us at a comfortable table. Our waiter was fantastic. He was from Romania, knowledgable about the menu and wine list and very professional. I have forgotten his name but he gave us impeccable service. Our food was delicious! We had a bottle of champagne and I ordered a starter and gobbled it right up. I had one of the specials Cod and potatoes. It was a lot of food and I could not finish it even thought it tasted so good. I probably didn't need the starter. If I make it back to Dublin, I will definitely go back to Peploe's.

S. B.Walked in and we were told we could not be seated without a reservation, this is a Tuesday night and there are plenty of tables. I was able to literally walk outside and book a table for 2 for 30 minutes later using their own website...so not a great start for a higher end joint.
The olive oil didn't taste fresh (peppery, bitter with a fruity note), which surprised me, and the veggie burger I got was dry (no sauce or aioli), fries came out about 5 minutes later (again with no dipping sauce which I had to request).
Now I understand, this is not a place to get a veggie burger, but given the vegetarian options, it was the most appealing. The reason I only give it 3 stars is that for a higher-end place, it really missed the mark in some key areas for me: service and balance in the dishes. Being right next to a major high-end hotel, they should expect a lot of international travelers, and tailor the service accordingly.
For the prices we paid, the food and service should have been better.

It turned out the food and wine were excellent, the service, high class, and the bill wasn't that much high. I think it's totally worth it if you want to do a very good restaurant: the size of the dishes are reasonable (not tiny), the quality of the ingredients, very good, and it's cooked to perfection, all of it, in a nice atmosphere.

Delightful menu the lambs kidney starter set the tone my partner had crab followed by confit of duck (delectable ) lamb cannelloni with anchovies perfect portion. Dessert which we hardly ever bother with was enticing and the coffee was excellent. All served up in a slick unobtrusive manner. Great team here with a menu to be proud of. We shall return. 👍👍👍

It's a nice dining area – even if the tables feel a little squished sometimes – but at the price I'm only going if someone else is buying. Just feel that the value isn't there, especially given the competition for this market in the area. It *is* however a good spot to smash a bottle of wine after work at the bar.

The ribeye is a must order, though it came with french fries instead of mashed potatoes. Very central near Stephen's Green so you can grab a drink elsewhere afterwards.
