If you prefer heavily herbed sauce and pizza dough with limited cheese, then you may enjoy this pizza. I found the heavy taste of oregano overpower the tomato almost giving a spicy sauce flavor. The dough was to be sourdough but was very crisp and missing the chewy nature of sourdough. The cheese was good when I could get a bite of it. From the limited portion of cheese this tasted more like a red dice pizza with a hint of mozzarella. Perhaps a not the best day to try, but will do again in fairness.

Delicious pizza and marvellous mocktails here.. Quick service and the staff are friendly and very helpful

Great spot to have amazing sourdough pizza. We went there with 6 people and there was one bigger table for us. They have some great beers as well. Would recommend 10/10!
G. F.
I ordered from these guys for a Corporate event and they were fantastic throughout. The food was excellent, they were very responsive to order changes and a pleasure to deal with throughout. A big thank you to Nathan.
A. R.
Great sourdough pizza with really interesting menu. I got The Mexican Juan! Also had The Lab77 cocktail which was a fun experience. Service was very friendly and the playlist was nice and chilled. Will definitely be back.
C. D.
Pizza was lovely, staff were great. Only issue was the beer on the menu not being available. The substitute beer was pretty good though, so not a massive issue. Would return if in Dublin again.
M.
Five stars [only for service]; we had an unfortunate delivery experience with a domino effect of bad events but Nathan made sure to listen and make it up to us. Looking forward to trying it again and giving the Lab a new chance.
[updated review]
The pizzas are insanely good - the crust is perfectly thin with a nice crunch all of the way through. The staff is super friendly, will go back again!
C.
A really great pizza restaurant just up from Vicar Street...There is loads to choose from on the menu and there is also an option to pick your own toppings! The Lab77 cocktail is a cool experience and also very tasty. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming too - Looking forward to the next visit to The Lab :)
A. D.
I had ordered a Margherita just before they were closing, I wasn't sure whither they'd be receiving my order in time but they did and the delivery was half their ETA. Great pizza, great taste, lovely ingredients. Some might think you can't go wrong with a Margherita but my experience tells me EVERYTHING could go wrong. I definitely recommend this spot! 5*
D. Z.
Great pizzas, we had Vesuvius and Margarita, absolutely delicious. Rocket and Parmigiano salad on top for extra taste. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
D. A.
Absolutely fantastic pizza, good staff. One downside for me was a lack of draft pints, but that won't matter to everyone. You can still get bottle of peroni and they do some cocktails. Not the best place for a drink obviously, but seriously good pizza.
K. F.
First off, the service is fantastic. Super friendly staff. You can create your own pizza with some incredible ingredients or go for some really unusual but delicious sour dough pizzas. Cocktails were lovely too. Great new addition to Thomas St!
J. W.
Nice spot. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Nice background music. I left all the crusts just too filling. The chicken pesto pizza was nice but a bit too oily. It needed something to balance the oil. Would go back.
E. M. A.
Called in there Tuesday last after seeing it was open after the months of renovations. The place effortlessly cool and all the staff are super pleasant and attentive. Almost every component of the experience has a cool lab related quirk like wine and cocktails delivered in conical flasks, and the clipboard menus. I went for the Fat Hawaiian. Genius combination of toppings! Will 100% be back soon!
P. S.
The pizza is super delicious. Besides some choices on the menu you can also design your own and choose from lots of toppings. Plus, great drinks and super friendly stuff. We will definitely be back soonish!
K. M.
The pizzas here are way more creative and tasty than anywhere else I’ve tried in Dublin. They have nice beer too. Staff are all sound!
C. Z.
Amazing pizza, very delicious, unique flavors. I ordered Pretentious Pamela and tasted so good. It’s a quite filling portion. Prices are good for the quality you get. Small place but has room for groups. Has very nice cocktails too in a fancy way of serving with lab material ;)
R. L.
Best Pizza LAB in Dublin, must try, service is top class and fair prices lovely atmosphere. Definitely coming back,
T. P.
Greatly decorated and thought through concept place. Don't expect Italian pizza but interesting and tasty experimental dishes as well as cocktails. Tiny space but designed with a lot of charm. Friendly staff and all in all a great experience! Try it out!
V. S.
Absolutely delicious pizza, quality sourdough, lovely toppings and unlike other pizza places.. not covered in oil, making for a healthy and tasty meal 👌 staff were super nice and helpful, making it a really enjoyable dining experience... Definitely will be back for more 🤤
S. M.
I'm giving this five as the staff were brilliant when we visited yesterday and they are doing their best with covid19 restrictions.
The lab doesn't do a lot but what it does do is excellent. However, Thomas Street doesn't fully lend itself to outdoor dining.
We managed to get through the meal fine but as soon as we went looking in our pockets for a tip a man appeared looking for money for food for his dog, (his dog appeared in better condition than I). We had choice, tip the waiter or pay for a meal for a dog. We tipped the waiter of course but it was a little off putting explaining this to dog man at length.
Anyway, great food!
B. E.
The pizza here is no joke. They apparently care about the crust, and you can tell. Quality ingredients and options. Easily a top 5 spot in Dublin.
S. K.
If you're looking for the best pizza in Dublin then look no further. Ordered for collection today and was so impressed with the experience from start to finish - the food was ready in 10 minutes, the staff greeted me with a smile when I went to collect and there was a lovely handwritten note on the box. The pizza itself was divine - a puffy crispy charred sourdough crust, layers of toppings (some places can be so stingy), you can tell a lot of thought has gone into flavour combinations and presentation. You can order pizza from the menu or build your own with an abundance of toppings to choose from including some non-traditional options. I have tried a lot of pizza places around Dublin and nothing has come close to this. Will definitely order again.

Amazing real saurdough pizza!!
The pizza is very light, soft, tasty, not greasy, amazing customer service too! The staff is really friendly and the service is excellent. Definitely my fav pizza place at the moment.
É. O.
The best pizza I’ve ever eaten, absolutely delicious! Everything about it was so good, arrived hot, topping choices are so tasty, wide drinks selection. Already looking forward to my next order!!
E. A.
I love it here. I usually sit in but have been ordering take away more often since we’re not in town as much! They’ve been adding new pizzas to the menu and they’re all unreal. Really lovely staff working there and they have a tasty cocktail menu, which is always appreciated!
S. C.
Absolutely amazing vegan pizza & cauliflower wings. Delivery was super quick and they even added a lovely message on the pizza box with a smiley face. Definitely ordering again and highly recommend!
D. Q.
10/10 pizza from me. After major disappointment with the last few pizza takeaways this has out done them all. The dips were also amazing. Nice little personal touch with a message on the pizza box. Thanks guys! We’ll be back 😊
T. G.
Amazing Place to have a really nice pizza, good selection of beers and a really excellent service
L. B.
I picked to eat here for my birthday dinner with the family... we loved it it. We all had different pizza, I had the pretentious Pamela, which was delicious and unusual but worked really well. I also had the lab cocktail, I wish we had more time to have a few more, just lovely...
The actual pizza base is amazing, crisp and tasty and not a drop of grease and the staff were so friendly. We will be back.
A. O.
The pizza is so tasty, really unusual toppings! And staff are super nice.
P.
Extremely friendly staff and an excellent menu. I had the BBQ pizza and got to taste some of the others as my friends and I mixed and matched. All very good. The drinks menu had some very interesting options too. Overall a refreshing change from the same old choices you see everywhere else. Will definitely be back!
J. M.
Dropped in with friends for pizza and oh my word was it amazing. I had the pear and blue cheese pizza, such an interesting and delicious combo. Great drinks selection too with some fun looking cocktails! All so reasonably priced. Great for a quick bite before a show in Vicar street. Amazing new addition to the area.
B. K.
Small but comfortable pizza joint beside Vicar St in Dublin 8. The Lab has a narrow layout, so you sit on stools facing a wall with no real tables. The menu is small too with not a great choice of pizza, but was happy with my choice of Pesto Pollo, which featured lots of pesto and smoked chicken. Staff are friendly and efficient and prices reasonable so it's worth spending a bit of time and money here.
H. I.
I adore this place! Every time I crave pizza I loathe that doughy hangover I get after, and sought out the best freshest pizza you can find in Dublin. My friend said she went here for a birthday and OMG it did not disappoint... from unusual topping combos that are so boujee and unusual you feel very fancy having a Pretentious Pamela (goats cheese and caramelised pear, get their home made garlic dip and go to town) and my annoyingly healthy friend got a salad but even that looked gorgeous, full of flavour and very generous with ingredients! The focaccia is very special, you don’t see sides like this in any pizza restaurant in Dublin (and I’ve been to them all) 10/10 my new favourite Saturday treat - and the best part, no pizza hangover, because freshly baked wood fired sourdough doesn’t hurt your tum tum!!😋 🍕❤️
N. M.
Decided to go for the Mexican Juan pizza and sorry no photos of the pizza itself. Wasn't sure about guacamole and nachos on a pizza however, with the BBQ base and the other toppings, it surprisingly works!!! Lovely staff and prices are affordable for the size of the pie you receive. On a warm day, it can get very hot within the premises and they do try their best to circulate the air as best as they can. Overall delighted with this place
C. M.
Heard about this new Pizza place near Vicar street so popped in with a couple of friends to see what the hype was about. We weren't disappointed! The restaurant itself is cosy with a warm atmosphere, and has a understated yet fun science theme running throughout. The menu offers a range of salads for the health conscious, and a variety of pizzas with a selection of interesting toppings. There's a decent drinks selection too. I went for the fairly unconventional "Pretentious Pamela" pizza - I was surprised how well fig and pear went as toppings on a pizza. The woodfired base was thin and cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and speedy, and the staff were able to accommodate my lactose-intolerant friend with a pizza he could enjoy too. It would make a cute place for dates. Would recommend.
D. M.
Great place for a bite before heading to Vicar street. Their pizzas are not traditional (and my boyfriend was not a fan of the Indian one) but they're good quality and delicious. I had the fat Hawaiian and would highly recommend. Go for the lab77 cocktail too - you won't be disappointed.
J. D.
Popped into pizza lab on its first day as I was passing while I was up for a concert. Really friendly staff that made you feel welcome.
The pizza is a very reasonable price of 13.50, for any pizza creation you can imagine with unlimited choice of toppings and design 😊 I played it safe and ordered one off the menu. I liked the taste of the sourdough crust and the 'Mexican Juan" was delicious!
Great science decor! got my own conical flask to top up my mimosa and the bill came as a "lab result". Very instagrammable I must admit and I couldn't resist putting it on my story 😂
Very fresh and clean restaurant while also having a rustic look to it. As I'm over six foot, it was great that I could adjust the height of the chair to sit comfortably! Great idea!!
Will definitely be calling in again for another pizza!
E. L.
So delicious. Quality ingredients and the tomato sauce base is just divine. 😍😍🍅
L. D.
My favorite pizza place in Dublin (No doubt). The food quality is amazing, and the staff is so friendly.
Got their pizza kit and couldn't be happier with it! Will always be my #1
Y. W.
Amazing food and a fantastic atmosphere at such a reasonable price!
Arrived on Tuesday and was greeted by the most handsome Labrador, Bradley, the restaurants very own mascot!
Decided on one of the menus pizzas - Pretentious Pamela. Swapped the pear for the honey roasted beetroot & extra blue cheese sauce! The pizza's sourdough base was the nicest I've ever eaten, not even a drizzle of grease to be seen! The view of the pizza cooking in the oven made for quite the sight - a real fire oven from Italy 🔥
At only €13.50 for the massive pizza 13" pizza it really was quite the offer! The space was full with people eating solo & in groups and the atmosphere was absolutely fantastic!
Would definitely recommend and will only be coming in here on my future Dublin visits!
K. M. C.
Great customer service, even better pizza. Had a little issue where our pizza looked like it had done a few backflips en route. I called the restaurant & Nathan the owner was so polite & sorted us out with new pizzas to the door in less than half an hour.
We’ll be back!!
o. m.
Really enjoyed my Friday night Pizza, wine and catch ups here!
Myself and 3 friends called in after work on Friday! The owner and staff were beyond welcoming. Really cool and quirky menu. The wine was delicious. The decor was interesting and lots of fun touches to give it the Laboratory feels!! I'm a vegetarian and plenty of options for me.....left feeling very satisfied and happy.
5 stars from me guys. Great job..Will defo be back.
L. H.
Arrived here on Tuesday and ordered the Smoked Indian pizza with a bbq base. The great news is it was absolutely amazing..the bad news (for me) is that I live in Cork and I have been craving it ever since! So nice, and this will definitely be my new go-to place when I am in Dublin!
Brilliant service too! Super friendly.
S. W.
I don’t tend to leave reviews too often, but this place was worth the effort! I was down in Dublin for a business trip and called in, and I found the service, food and staff in this place to be fantastic, hard to believe it’s only opened. I asked for a half and half which was no issue whatsoever to the staff. I got a half pepperoni and half smoked Indian and it was beautiful - that sourdough base 👌🏼! The whole theme of the restaurant is lovely, fun and really well executed. The owner was really friendly and made a point of speaking to everyone. Will definitely be back - May need to organise some more business in Dublin!
A. J. -. P.
So good! We ordered the Hot Veggie, the Pollo Pesto, and customised some garlic bread and it was great, the smoked chicken on the Pollo Pesto was unexpected and super delicious, and the crust was perfect. Can't wait to order again!!
D. D.
Delicious and interesting pizza and cocktails. Great decor and really friendly staff. Will be back for sure!
F. K.
We switched to these guys for our office catering and haven't looked back. Great quality and diversity, really interesting unique items like the pretentious Pamela (think Pineapple on Pizza is a step too far try Pear). The bases are light and tasty and the service is top notch.
S.
I have ordered pizza here numerous times and have not been disappointed. The staff are friendly and efficient and the prices are very competitive. Overall, stunningly nice sourdough pizza, and a great addition to Thomas Street.
M. P.
Great pizzas for really affordable prices. Place is a bit tiny though so make sure to book ahead. Lovely staff as well.
M. S.
I went there for the pizza but did you see that cocktail? Had to doctor it myself! 😍
C. N.
Loved it! Very nice place, cozy and food is brilliant! Drinks also very creative and tasty.
M. B.
Holy moly. Coming from someone who lives in the NY/NJ area, pizza is sacred and it’s often difficult to find a good pie when abroad. As a lover of sourdough, I couldn’t pass up a chance to try one of their interesting combinations. The staff was super friendly, informing us of the 25 min wait (which we felt to be super reasonable given the size of their pizza oven) and we were seated immediately. After about 15 mins or so, they even apologized for the wait time which they definitely didn’t need to do. Once our Fat Hawaiian arrived, I regretted agreeing to share it with my husband because WOW was it good! They added mango chunks and a mango sauce on top and it took a typical Hawaiian pizza to the next level! It’s absolutely worth the wait based on the pizza quality alone, but they get bonus points for a cool ambiance and super nice staff.
S. F.
Absolutely savage. I'm a vegetarian and it was the most delicious perfect veggie pizza. Such amazing flavour. 100% recommend x
M. W.
Now the Liberties has two excellent pizza places, here and Luckys. I had the Mexican Juan pizza I think it's called. I got take away but the restaurant is small but cosy. The base was perfectly baked and the toppings were a delicious mix of sweet and spicy. I will definitely be back!
P.
Really friendly staff, generously sized garlic mayo, Vesuvius pizza was a flavour explosion in my mouth and all ready under 20 minutes! Will be my go-to pizza from now on☺️❤️ Thank you!
B. L.
Definitely the BEST pizza in Dublin!! And the customer service is amazing ... the staff extremely friendly and I couldn’t recommend them more, 5 ⭐️ !! Please support local businesses !
E. M.
Interesting and different style pizzas that are tasty. Cocktails are good and unique. Only downside is that they're stocking craft beer from Sweden not sure why they wouldn't get a local Irish craft beer instead
R. G.
Fantastic pizza and great atmosphere! Tried the ‘Smoked Indian Chicken’ and the toppings were to die for! Would highly recommend.
G. G.
I had eaten horrible pizza for weeks in England and Scotland. Found this gem of a place after leaving the Guinness Storehouse. Amazing food, amazing wine and great staff. Would totally recommend!
A.
Won't find much better pizza in this city. The wooden seating and slim tables might not be for everyone but nonetheless, this is a great place for a date or a catch up with friends. They even serve you espresso in a conical flask! Pretentious? Eh, maybe, I thought it was really cool.
K. M.
I've been on the Dublin pizza scene for many years, and this place is now best pizza in the whole county (possibly even in the entire province). Highly recommend the Indian Chicken or the Fat Hawaiian.
J. D.
Phenomenal pizza and brilliant service every single time. Lucky to have this restaurant on my doorstep. 🙌
E. P.
My friends and I came for a casual Friday night dinner. We had a tough time deciding between all the interesting topping combinations, but were really happy with the Pretentious Pamela. Candy floss cocktail was fun and the Christmas decor added to the already cute vibe.
r. b.
How cool is this place! I love the science theme and the attention to detail is first class! Really great vibe in the place and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or attentive! Went for the pretentious Pamela and it was gorgeous, the base was unreal too! Great addition to Dublin and will be back with my family again next weekend!
J. H.
Really tasty crust, friendly staff, fun specials and an easy custom menu. Individual pizza cutters do no harm either! Will be back.
P. R.
Good pizzas, great service
S. H.
Quite sure that this is the best pizza I've ever eaten. Thanks for a beautiful meal, I look forward to visiting for a cocktail too when that's possible!
J. M.
Great pizza and great setting! Staff were friendly and attentive too. Was hoping they still did the shwarma but "the pretentious Pamela" was even better!
S. G.
Was at a gig in Vicar Street on Saturday and walked by Pizza Lab. It was only open for family and friends for a practice run but one of the waiters allowed us to get take away. I went for the 'Pretentious Pamela' purely for the name. It was so tasty and piping hot!
Will definitely pop in for a sit-down over the coming weeks, hope it goes well for the owners!
C. G.
Fabulous pizza
Great cocktails and beer
Extremely good value..

What more could you ask for .

C. B.
Pizza is great and the staff were friendly. I had the fig pizza and it was really nice. Good veggie and vegan options.
F. F.
Amazing pizza and staff, will definitely come back again !
S. H.
Alright, I'm gonna start off by saying the pizza is delicious. The tomato sauce is the perfect amount of sweet, the mozzarella has a lovely cheese pull, and the toppings are fun and unique. Also the crust—absolutely amazing. Sourdough pizza is a winner.
However, there were a few grievances I took with the service. When my friend and I first came into the restaurant, there was a wait of about 15-20. This was totally fine by me, as it was around 7:30 and we all know this is a busy time for most restaurants. The server I spoke to (his name is Nathan) asked for my phone number to text me when there was a table ready. I thought this was a little strange but gave him my number anyway. My friend and I live very close to the restaurant, and we had our bookbags from lecture, so we decided to walk back to our accommodation and drop off our stuff.
We were gone for about 15 minutes and I hadn't got a text from the server yet (I was fine with this). However, another friend was going to meet up with us for dinner and she texted us and told us she got a spot. We got to the restaurant, sat down with our other friend, and Nathan came up to us and apologized to me for not texting me. I told him it was no big deal and then he continued to serve us. He is a fine server, nothing spectacular but nothing terrible either. What troubled me was what happened when we left the restaurant.
It was my birthday dinner, so one friend paid for my wine and the other paid for my pizza. I did not go up to the counter to pay whatsoever; my friends took care of it for me. Cut to an hour later, and I get a text from Nathan saying that something wasn't rung up correctly on the till or something like that. My friends show me how much they paid (which is not something they should have to have done in the first place, as it was a gift from them.) It seemed like they paid the correct amount, and even if they hadn't, this was not their fault at all. It would be the server's fault for forgetting to charge them. It is extremely unprofessional for an employee to text a customer after they have paid and left the establishment to come back in to reconcile something the server forgot to charge them for on the tab (and I find it unlikely that they did forget.)
I couldn't be bothered to deal with this text, especially because it was my birthday and like I said, I hadn't paid for the meal, my friends bought it for me. This morning I get another text from Nathan asking me to make a payment over the phone. Following this I just blocked him, because this is so unprofessional. My friends paid what was requested of them at the counter. I should not have to deal with an employee texting me to give him my card information over the phone following my birthday dinner. This is unprofessional and honestly, it made me uncomfortable.
I would love to come back to The Lab, because I think the pizza is really tasty. However, I'm not sure if I feel comfortable at the establishment anymore. If I could, I would give the Lab 2.5 stars. Great pizza, strange employee who kept bothering me.
C. K.
I had an excellent experience at The Lab, would highly recommend the pollo pesto pizza. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming too. I will definitely be ordering from here again.
S. N.
Amazing pizza and nice little shop atmosphere. Highly recommend the Mexican pizza.

J. H.
Really nice local place, friendly service and most importantly, very delicious pizza! Nice vegetarian options too
S. M.
My favourite pizza in Dublin, the staff are excellent, very friendly and welcoming.
J. L.
Asked a couple colleagues for a place in the liberties we could drop in just before a gig and were initially recommended a place further down the road. But saw this seemingly new spot almost next door to Vicar Street with an appealing menu so we had to check it out. So glad we did! A friendly hands-on owner helped us with service throughout. Large sourdough bases with whatever selection of toppings you want (no limit..) for €13.50 - show me a better value place in Dublin. I will be going out my way to come back very soon!
M. E.
Awesome original pizza with local beer and very friendly staff 👏
