Very fresh, clean, crisp, well presented and superb flavour.
They installed a new outdoor seating area which is really nice and comfortable. It has a roof cover which is good regardless of the weather.
The menu is superb - great choice.
The service was a little slow during our time there but the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Can't wait to go back - definitely worth a visit.

L. K.Lovely outdoor terrace at the back. The sauce in my crab claws was to die for. The best I have ever had I think. Small menu but enough of everything. Fishy and something for the non fishy people. Or just sit and enjoy a coctail or a drink.

W. J. F.This is a great place to stay and eat. The set menu on the board was really good and the wine I chose although a bit pricey for the bottle was a perfect accompaniment. The hotel which is to the right of the restaurant was really great too, comfy beds, plenty of space and everything that you need to get a good sleep and prepared for the next day. Breakfast was also good, perfect for the traveller with a good fine selection of food to get you going. I highly recommend this place.
C. S.The food was delicious and the strawberry desert 😁. All staff were very welcoming, pleasant and Jennifer s knowledge of the menu and wine list was impressive. We then decided to stay everything was spotless. Will definitely be back . Thanks for everything and breakfast was a lovely experience.

S. Y.Have just had an exceptional evening at The Bay Tree. The Asian Style Oysters will never be forgotten. The ensuing debate regarding the accompanying sauce to the fabulous trio of white fish, lead to a stimulating conversation with the Master Chef at our table. Connor your restaurant is an absolute jewel. I have never tasted such delicious food and drink in such a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Credit to your wife for the decor.

P. C.Visited for lunch here on Sunday 13th Jan. Excellent 3 course menu (€29) with a variety of imaginative options to suit most tastes. Food was well prepared and presented and without exception, absolutely delicious. My main could possibly have been a little hotter but in the grand scheme, this is a minor detail. The more junior member of our party opted for the childrens' menu and had nothing but positive feedback and clean plates to offer us by way of evaluation!
Service was friendly, attentive and prompt though the restaurant wasn't full when we visited.
Can't wait to return.
J. S.We stayed at the Belvedere with several friends and had a great night. The staff were friendly and the food was great. The rib of beef was slow cooked and so tender. Really lovely. Nice rooms. Good breakfast. Conor and his wife made us all very welcome. Good value too.
k. o.I dint usually write a comment but the staff at the bay tree are so nice that they deserve a mention. From the first step that we walked in the hospitality and welcomming that we got was wonderful. From the chit chat from the chef to the professionalism of our waitress. Nothing was problem for them. From my friend being gluten free the food was amazing and the home made treacle bread was an extra treat and delicious. It was my first time and definetly wont be my last. The restaurant has started to open early from 4pm onwards i couldnt recommend it enough. To beat the ques i would be going and booking a table sooner than later and tbh i like it be quieter so 4pm was perfect. Wishing all the bay tree team all the best and keep up the amazing work and cooking
D. F.We had a 70th birthday in the private room of the restaurant. The food was very nice and the service attentive without being overly so. The only complaint was the limited number of vegetarian options. I would definitely eat there again.

E.Six of us went for a meal & initially all was good friendly welcome &. atmosphere until one of our meals came undercooked we had ordered a medium steak which arrived totally rare when it was sent back to the kitchen the chef returned it to the table cremated & inedible this but a dampner to the evening we did not make a fuss we requested shots on the house to compensate for the food to which said no problem we waited an acceptable time & then asked to which the staff said the cefc said no & starting chirping in about how the steak was ok &putting it into us what happened to customer service it ended up leaving a sour taste in our mouths & we will not be returning very unpleasant experience that could have been avoided with professional customer care 😒
M. O.We are an Iralian choir 'Coro Italiano di Dublino' and were invited to sing at our Conductor's wedding on Saturday 31st August in Newry. We combined the special occassion with a stay over in lovely Carlingford. Due to our numbers we were booked into a number of different accommodatioon providers. We got a recommendation from the bride that The Bay Tree would be a good place to dine on the night. I duly booked a private room for 30 guests and we were not disappointed. It was simply an unforgetable evening, we started with a champagne reception (compliments of our beautiful bride) followed by a three course delicious meal. (well done to the chef on the night). We had several choices from each course which was wide and varied. The courteous staff could not have been more helpful and no request was too much. We sang and partied into the early hours.
Let me compliment the owner for running his business so efficiently and to such a high standard. We have a woindeful evening. Marianne O'Reilly.
A. Q.Delicious starters all 'round, but esp the duck samosas (taste buds still dreaming of them). Lamb was very nice, as was hake. 3 Irresistable desserts were shared between 4 of us, each one so tasty. To top off a lovely night compliments must go to the young waiting staff - so pleasant and obliging.

M.Excellent familial-run B&B. The food is all organic and local, and the rooms are wide, comfortable, clean, and tidy. The place is well decorated and very quiet, located at less than 100m from the shore. The owners are lovely and full of precious advices.
p. b.Fabulous food. What a meal! Fresh local produce, perfectly prepared and presented. Our table of 7 were unanimous in their praise. Excellent oysters in different ways, goat's cheese strudel, duck samosa....tasty. Main courses included a wonderful Daube of Beef, amazing Lamb (including kidney), Pork Belly (Old Spot) and several of the best lobsters we've ever had. Truly enjoyable experience from start to finish (including a Berry Roulade to die for!).
