Nice place, good service, but I can't say I loved the food. I had fishcakes for starter which were dry and overcooked and tortellini which were stuffed with something hard, very little fresh spinach in a heavy cream and cheese sauce. Good wine.

Fast and friendly service and marvellous food. Every time we dine in this cosy and stylish restaurant we feel like noble men, intensified by the subtle french chansons in the background.
A family business with Flair!
Update: even on short notice they were able to bring a surprise song and birthday greetings to one of our party.
And as usual, excellent service and food.

The perfect place to dine after a long walk on the beach. We arrived when it was already dark outside and found a cosy and warm place with wooden walls. If I remember correctly there was even a fireplace *_*. I had the fish and chips with a brown beer. The fish tasted really good and felt fresh!

Good food, reasonably priced and very nice staff. I recommend this restaurant as one of Greystones best.

Good destination for a nice family meal out. Gorgeous confit duck starter with a super crisp skin, came with large helping of lentils in mustard sauce, almost could have served as a main. Chicken wings and scampi also big hits. Burger had a huge, soft but well cooked patty, lovely chips on side. Pasta with mussels and prawns also very nice, just too full after the duck to do it justice. Only small misstep was with the lamb roast - one piece was quite dry and over done. Great personable welcome and service, definitely would go back again.

This is a fantastic restaurant with superb menus and mouth watering food. The staff are simply amazing. It's a little on the pricey side but we'll worth it.

The experience was amazing here...we walked in without reservations and they said they were booked but looked and made it work. We had to come back in 45 min but it was well worth the wait.
The staff was very friendly and have great advice on the food available. The pie of the day was extremely flavorful and hearty, the French onion soup was the best I have ever had. I would come back to this restaurant any day of the week!

Had just phoned ahead to check if there was a chance of a table available for Sunday lunch. We were sitting & ordering in 45 mins. We enjoyed a perfectly cooked roast beef dinner that was so flavourful & enjoyable that there was no chat between us until we finished it all. Our kids shared a steak & devoured it. Sides all freshly made, onion rings, roasties, horseradish sauce etc. Beautiful fresh veg & good quality tender beef, all served up by very attentive, friendly staff. We left feeling very satisfied indeed. Thank you to all at the Hungry Monk!
