C. K.Cahernane House is one of the best hotels you will find, full of character and surrounded by the most amazing scenery. We feel so lucky to have gotten married here this December and had the most magical weekend! We stayed there for three nights and we didn’t want to leave. The rooms are all stunning, with the most comfortable beds and all the amenities you’d need. The food served at our wedding and throughout the entire weekend was absolutely superb and all our guests were blown away. The team at the Cahernane are excellent, so professional, attentive, friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. Whether you are considering getting married here or looking to book a weekend away, we couldn’t recommend the Cahernane more.
M. F.This place was spectacular, the room had a door opening out on to the grounds with views of the mountains. Also very happy to have a quality coffee machine in the room.. The hotel and grounds are beautifully maintained with numerous historic pieces throughout.. Service was exceptional without being intrusive, I must mention David the manager, Todd and Dean here along with the great accommodation staff I met. Everything was of a high standard and consistently well done, right down to the breakfast menu.. An absolute treat.
F.Cahernane house is a magical place to stay at any time of year. It has a very peaceful setting in the centre of all that Killarney has to offer with beautiful grounds and views.
The food is amazing, every meal is delicious and perfectly presented. The ambience in both the restaurant and the cellar bar is great.
The rooms are so comfortable and very well appointed.
What makes Cahernane extra special are the wonderful friendly people on the team. Everyone goes out of their way to look after their guests. Service is faultless and never intrusive. A big thank you to Emer and all the team for making our Christmas and New year break perfect.
A. M. F.From the moment we arrived we just switched off. It's the most relaxing experience I have ever had at a Hotel. It's like a home from home, it doesn't have the atmosphere of a busy hotel. The receptionist was lovely, the bar staff attentive and friendly. Room isn't very big but comfy and cosy. Breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty. We will be recommending this hotel to friends and we will most definitely be returning. Thank you for a lovely stay
S. A.This is hands down my most favorite hotel of all time. My bed was super comfortable and cozy it was hard to get out. The breakfast was delicious and had tons of options. The hotel felt magical decorated for Christmas. The staff were amazing! Very friendly and helpful. They arranged a carriage ride from the hotel to the nearby park for some sightseeing. I can’t wait to get back to Ireland to stay here agin.

We were very impressed with the staff who were polite and helpful at all times. One of the staff even ran out you our car with my friends phone charger which she had forgotten .

We ate in the Cellar Bar and also had breakfast and both offered plenty of choice with an emphasis on local produce. Very quaint and while you were very close to the town, you still felt very much out in the country due to its location and surroundings. Staff were extremely friendly. Rooms were fine albeit a bit small. Food was excellent. Would have been nice to see a broader menu option mind. Wifi was probably the only let down as very sporadic.

The food in the bar was delicious and the service each night was really great. Breakfast in the morning was lovely although the staff didn't seem as happy to be there as others in the hotel always a little flustered and bothered by you. Also even though it was the same menu, the content of the breakfast seemed to vary from day to day but it was all delicious when we got it. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed in the coach house due to those rooms having baths included, great quality rooms with rain shower and large bath. Softest bed I’ve ever slept in! We dined in the Herbert Restaurant which was fab, beautiful selection of fish and meats available. Drinks and food available in the bar also, super tasty, superb staff. We have stayed in many hotels in Killarney but this one we truly loved, we will be returning for sure.

On arrival we learned that we had been upgraded to a junior suite which was a lovely surprise. The room itself was beautiful, the bed was amazing and i made use of the claw-foot bath a few times. As I booked directly online we were given 2 glasses of champagne in the cellar bar. The staff in the bar we good craic, up for a bit of banter and the food/wine was amazing. Overall a great experience and I will be looking here as my first choice when staying in Killarney.

Too many amazing staff to mention them all. Caragh did the check in with us and was very chatty. The Cahernane house hotelay be a little more expensive than other hotels in the area. But it is a price we'll worth paying

Had a glass of prosecco on arrival, a nice touch (although the glasses weren't taken away to be cleaned during our two night stay). Great view of mountains. Excellent service at breakfast and dinner. Couldn't find barman to get a drink in the bar on the second night, though. It was 12:30am, maybe he was finished but, if he was, he didn't let us know. Beautiful area outside for seating, lovely area to sit and finish off an evening or night.

Everything about it was just amazing - the rooms, food, design, general manager Emer, the staff, the little bar downstairs, even the wallpaper in the bar loos!! Will highly recommend it to my clients. I loved its accessibility within minutes to the town of Killarney, yet its setting is very much a country estate feel oblivious to a bustling town nearby. This Manor House is the perfect starting point for moseying along the Ring of Kerry and for visiting Muckross House & Gardens. Seriously good value too for what it offers.
A. T.The attention to detail on the house itself is unique, from the stunning art on the walls and the antique furniture and beautiful chandeliers. There’s a gorgeous view of the mountains behind from the windows. We stayed in a room in the original house and it felt as if we had stepped back in time; to a five star standard. It’s a truly hidden gem. The thing that made it the most for us though were the staff - they were so kind and friendly and would go over and above for you. It’s very close to national park as well, you can take the bikes from the hotel and cycle down to it.

G. O.While the service is generally very good we felt the personal touch has been lost. we stayed for our 10th wedding anniversary and this was acknowledged with just a card in our room on arrival. A small gesture such as a box of chocolates would have enhanced the experience. On our previous stays this always happened with the previous owners and this was very much appreciated and always encouraged us to return. Its the small details that make a difference and it would be a shame for that to be lost.

K. O.Oh my goodness! We loved this hotel, it was absolutely beautiful. We were so sad it was only a night. Mary was an absolute doll when checking in and gave us wonderful ideas to explore the area. We really just loved walking around the grounds. The mountains behind were beautiful and all the sheep! It truly was a lovely setting. We had the best tea and scones here! I still think about them to this day. It had rained on our way to the hotel, but the sun started shining and it really made the place more majestic! I could have spent 3-4 days here just relaxing and eating/drinking tea and scones!

c. w.Stayed here a few weeks ago and staff couldn’t have been any better. Accommodation staff were all so lovely and staff in the bar and restaurant were all so helpful and can’t do enough for you. We left a bracelet after us and it was posted up as quick as lightning. Young guy Darren was brilliant. I saw him serve food, pints and pump up the tyres on someone’s bike. The hotel is gorgeous throughout, I’d recommend the carriage part which is outside the hotel and worth the little extra. Will definitely go back!

M. M. M.This is an unbelievably stylish, yet relaxed , hotel situated in a sylvan setting just a short walk from Killarney town centre. The accommodation was excellent and the staff was most welcoming.
We ate in the restaurant one evening and haute cuisine is the only word to describe the food.

C. R.We really enjoyed our two night stay at the Cahernane House Hotel. The House was relaxing, the staff were efficient and courteous and the management were friendly and engaging whilst respecting your privacy. The bedroom suite overlooked the gardens and were spacious and spotless. The setting is magical, down a tree lined avenue on the edge of Killarney yet far enough off the road that you hear no traffic. The cattle and sheep roamed around the fields adjacent to the gardens. The restaurant setting was very pleasant and we had dinner on both evenings again with a view over the gardens and mountains. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and served with a smile. Compliments to all the staff, Emer, Cara and co. We used the complimentary bicycles and cycled around Muckross and the Killarney National Park - spectacular. We took a magical boat trip around the upper lake adjacent to Muckross House and thoroughly enjoyed the banter with Boatman John Lyne who took us through the meeting of the waters and into the lower lake. It was just like being in the Swiss Alps or Italy. We will definitely be back.

J. M.On arrival, we were immediately put at our ease. Remember, our visit was just three days after the hotel opening post the COVID-19 closure. There was a hand sanitising station just inside the door and the lobby was large and well ventilated.
During our stay, we could see that close attention had been paid to seating, serving and movement of guests such that we all felt safe and comfortable.
All this was achieved without diminishing the friendliness of the staff and their enthusiasm in ensuring that our stay was relaxing and memorable.

N. P.Superb old Manor hotel with old school charm. The hotel is filled with antique furniture and decor. The rooms are beautifully decorated, we had room 14 of which had a beautiful view of the back lawns via a old wood bay window. The bed was large and comfortable, as well the bathroom had was well sized and excellent water pressure. The hotel has a hirer end restaurant and a pub with decent food. The ambiance of the hotel in general reflects an older classic charm. One issue is their internet connectivity is very inconsistent, constantly dropping the signal.

K. Z.We stayed at the Cahernane House hotel for 3 nights, enjoying it all had to offer. Placed right on the Killarney National Park, it is right where you need it to be located, very close to town while offering good drinks and 2 dining options on the property if you had a long day. We had dinner and drinks in the cellar and Roger makes a good drink. We decided to get room service twice and that was very convenient and there was no set back.. food and drinks were just as good. All and all our stay was great, and I had an incident leaving my passport in the safe in the room. I didn't realize it until I checked into our next stop in Dublin... I had a flight the next morning and needed to figure out how to get it. I was ready to drive back but the staff at the Cahernane was able to figure out how to get it to me.. In summary the staff from bartenders, to room service, front desk, and the management all in all absolutely terrific. They made sure our stay was perfect even after we left. I would recommend staying with them to everyone. Thank you Mariann and Mary L and rest of staff.

D. H.Breakfast was a disaster. Food and service. Dinner food quality was okay but service was slow.
The hotel needs a serious renovation but it has potential. It is not to my mind up to Blue Book standard at present. Management should pay a visit to Castlewood House in Dingle to see how it’s done.

B. B.In composing this review, I settled on 4 stars as an overall experience. There is a fine town center within walking distance...the national park being close by is a plus...our particular room was above and beyond and the dining was overall good. Hospitality was inconsistent....the dining staff service was in consistent, though the dining room manager at the time of our stay was exceptional! Overall...if you are not with a tour group...I think the hospitality would be improved.

K. B.Having visited a multitude of houses on wedding business this year, one can become a little jaded. Cahernane House, however, was a pleasant surprise. From the moment we walked in, the welcome was streets ahead of most country houses. No staid false smiles... a genuine warm welcome. A manger by the name of Emer couldn't have been more helpful and professional. The staff were friendly and one would go a long way to match such a warm welcome. The house itself is steeped in history and the original construction dates back to the mid 1600's. This was demolished around the 1870's and the building that currently stands was erected in its place. It is reputed that ghosts inhabit the house and it's easy to see why with such a long and varied past. There are more plush country houses and more ostentatious places out there no doubt but this place gets my wholehearted recommendation based on the way the staff, and particularly the manager engaged with guests. Great place for a wedding location or a weekend away.

Rooms was fantastic! Only one small hickup room was a little warm at night. The pillows have a nice smell on them, possibly hazelnuts. Love the little patio with table and chairs. The grounds are so very grand. And lastly this location is a short walk to town. *Two Thumbs Up*

We got married at the gap of Dunloe in August 2018 and we had the reception at Cahernane and everyone stayed at Cahernane for 3 days for the wedding. Das Abendessen echt top, hier wird noch richtig gut gekocht. Frühstück auch super, da bleiben eigentlich keine Wünsche offen. Das Frühstück wird auch komplett serviert und findet an mit Stoffdecken und Stoffservietten versehen Tischen statt. Neben allem beschriebenen hier, auch das Personal hier mega nett und sehr aufmerksam. 100% Weiterempfehlung!

Die Begrüssung verlief hektisch - was uns ein wenig unfreundlich erschien. Bekamen allerdings später dann sogar köstliche Leckereien mit Gratulationswünschen. Zimmer war klein aber fein. Waren im Parterre und hatten Zugang zu einem persönlichen Gartentisch. Wenn das Wetter besser mitgespielt hätte, wäre das ganz nett gewesen. Es hat allerdings durch diese Fensterfront gezogen und der Raum wurde dadurch sehr frisch. Der Badezimmerboden mit den Steinplatten war sehr kalt. Über meine mitgebrachten Slippers war ich sehr dankbar. Dank Onkel Google konnten wir uns auch ein Bild über die Gegend machen und fanden uns so ein wenig zu recht. Seitens Hotel kam da nicht viel. Frühstück war ganz ok. Allerdings musste man alles bestellen (Toast..ect) und am Buffet befand sich „nur“ Früchte, Müsli, Aufschnitt, Käse und Brotaufstrich. Diniert haben wir dort nicht. Soll angeblich gut sein doch der Preis hat es in sich.
Liessen uns Lunchpakete bereitstellen. Der Apfel war sehr mehlig. Das Toastbrotsandwich war oke.
