Can’t be faulted when it comes to Covid 19 measures. Staff wearing face shields and good spacing between tables.
Food and wine selection is a winner and very reasonable prices for the quality.
Highly recommend and will visit again.

J. B.Dining at the Lime Tree is a real treat. The food is exceptional, best lamb I've tasted in a long time and it was cooked to perfection. In fact all food ordered here was beautiful. The chicken wings are a must have, if only for the sauce they are served in. The steak was described to me as "a steak that will be remembered for a long time"! We were holidaying in Killarney and were gifted a voucher to try this restaurant and it was definitely worth the trip. Even the drive from Killarney to Kennare is a Delight!

A. M.Went here for girlfriends Birthday. Booked a while in advance; advised booking was for her birthday and they told me they'd rustle up a 'birthday plate'. All seemed hopeful, but the experience wasn't good. No birthday plate, she wasn't made to feel special. Little touches don't cost a lot but can make a big difference to the experience. Food was alright, prawn cocktail was v. nice, cheese board bit bland. Service was a bit sullen. Disappointing.
M. O.Ahmagad this place is such a gorgeous gem! We booked in for food one night while cycling the ring of kerry and it's honestly the highlight of all our dining. Unbelievable food, incredible baileys coffee and the loveliest welcome ever by the gal at the front of house! thank you so much for staying open during covid and for being the highlight of our staycation.
W. O.Hands down the best dining experience in Kenmare. Had the cheese soufflé to start, the cauliflower steak for main, and desert of the upside down cheesecake. Everything was interesting from a flavour and texture point of view. Biggest surprise was the mash and veg brought out with our mains, which we nearly murdered each other for the last bit of! Great atmosphere in there too, with a homely rustic feel. Look forward to going back!

Truly amazing food, the best restaurant in Kenmare by a country mile! We ate in many many restaurants during our 2 week stay in Kenmare.
The lime tree is head and shoulders about the rest, it had a great atmosphere, great service and great food.

M. P.The Lime Tree Restaurant is everything you could want in an excellent restaurant. Excellent location, service, menu and atmosphere. It was highly recommended by our driver and guide, Phil, introduced us to the Chef/Owner, who made us feel welcome. We had a great dinner and a special evening. Excellent menu for a reasonable price.
R. O.What a little hidden treasure! My partner and I visited “the limetree restaurant” on Saturday the 4th July and our experience was second to none. We stayed in a nearby “5 star resort” where the food did not match the standard of the stars unfortunately, so we choose to eat else where for our second night. Best idea we made!!!
It was the restaurants first night to open after its closure due to covid19. I called at 5pm to see if there was any availability for that night and we luckily they had one table left. When we arrived we were greeted by the lovely friendly staff, we were then shown to our cosy candle lit table.
The food was top notch! Both dishes were cooked to perfection (Pan fried Sole and steak).
The chef Mike also came out to introduce himself and ask how the food was!
Overall our experience was absolutely amazing and I can’t recommend this restaurant enough!
If you are visiting Kenmare soon, put this restaurant on your list you won’t be disappointed 👌🏼

The food is beyond ordinary and it is served by a lovely staff in a location that is the perfect balance between classy and rustic, it is decorated in a unique way with incredible taste. It was one of the nicest dinners I had in years. Strongly recommended!

R. M.The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were attentive and friendly. I had the duo of lamb which I thoroughly recommend, it was perfect. When I explained I had a dairy allergy, the staff were very conscientious about not giving me anything with dairy/providing dairyfree options e.g. olive oil instead of butter for the bread that was served at the table, letting me know which of the provided breads I could eat. Unfortunately this attitude is quite uncommon as most plaes will still serve butter or milk with dairy despite having ordered a dairy-free meal, for example.
I also liked the atmosphere and décor of the restaurant a lot.
Berry sorbet as dairy-free dessert option was quite nice. Was happy to be accomodated. Would recommend meringue with fruit as another easy dairyfree option to provide more choice for those who are dairyfree.
One caveat that I will mention, when we went to pay, one of the waitresses was counting out cash notes. She commented to another waitress that they had received a tip of €20 and the other waitress replied, "That's very bad.". I felt pressurised into leaving a healthy tip because of this, whereas it should really be the consumer's choice. I felt this behaviour was unprofessional and reflected badly on the members of staff concerned.
All, in all, I would not hesitate in returning to Lime Tree Restaurant if I was in the area again as I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there.

M. H.Be sure to book in advance as it was full when we booked for a Wednesday evening! Food was delicious! Service Spot on! Price was okay. Reason that it drops a star was that their website does not state their opening ours in detail. I.e. I did not know it was closed on a Monday as their site simply states, "open 6.30pm - 9.30pm April - October". I called and left two messages on their answerphone in an attempt to make a booking. I also tried to make an online booking. None of these messages were responded to. In the end i got through on the phone the day before i wanted to go. This needs addressing as in this day and age, there is no reason to not have an automated online booking system and if you have an answerphone then have the decency to check and respond to messages left.
