Good food with big portions. Went for the fish and chips and got two fish!!! Nice and fresh too. Would love it if they had a few craft beers on tap but you can't beat a good Guinness.

Really great place to eat. Lots of seating and outside too on a day with good weather to look out over the ocean. Excellent food at reasonable prices and a good selection of beer. Really friendly staff and fun too. The interior isn't super clean and looks pretty dated, but that's part of the charm. You're truly hanging out with the locals on just any other day here at Templars.

Food was good, not fantastic and the young staff were friendly and attentive. We were a large party of five families and asked for separate bills which was refused. They said they would handle everything when we paid. Unfortunately, when we each went up to pay we found numerous items that we hadn't ordered, a main and a good few drinks. We argued and a few things were removed but we ended up paying for drinks we didn't have. That and the fact that the lady that was supervising the younger staff never wore a facemask despite coming over to talk to us numerous times, ruined what should have been a pleasant family meal out.

We shared a meal here òn a very wet Friday evening recently. Our Covid passes were properly checked and contact info was taken. The food portions and quality were very good. The fish was especially good. But the desserts were up there as well, particularly the lemon meringue. We considered the prices very acceptable and the staff were very pleasant. We would recommend the Templar Inn to anyone looking for a good place to eat in the area.

Lovelly place, friendly and kind staff. But for a seafood restourant next to the sea I would expect seafood to be fresh, not frozen. Prawns were hard and rubber like and the fish just tasted frozen. Advice for management, invest to using your local fresh seafood from the fishermen and the food will taste much better. Other than that the place is amazing!

This actually kills me , the staff were very helpful and polite, the bar itself is clean and still resembles the past , the Guinness is still world class , however .... The food wasn't great , went for the old reliable, fish n chips , and that's exactly what it was , a very small bowl of mushy peas , well if they were mushy that would of been a bonus , very small portion of tartar sauce , the fish was tasteless and crispy batter ,. Very crispy , not even a bit of green on the plate , the side salad was absent and it definitely was a first for me , sorry but the food is a let down

Great place to eat, one of my best fish & chips I've ever had on this island. Staff is young and nice, they'll do anything for you. When it's busy you might wait a bit longer at dinner time, but that speaks for itself, people like to dine there. Food was served nice, full of flavours, fish was fresh not frozen. If I'm in vicinity I'll always drop by. Definitely recommend!

Top class for food and views. This is a very popular and can be very busy. Booking in advance is essential if you want a seat for food. The beer battered fish and chips are hard to beat. Highly recommended for food quality and service.

We have been to the Templar Inn before in the off-season a few times. This time it was busy as it and the sun had come out so we sat outside. We had our dog with us so it was nice to be able to take here out of the car and she was able to sit under our table, something that is lacking in Irish Pubs where no pets are allowed. We all had starters, mains and deserts. The Chowder is served with brown bread and Prawn Salad and for the main course it was carbonara, BBQ Pork Ribs and Chicken strips. Mains came with a choice and the chips where so nice we ordered another portion. Desert choices were good and we topped it off with a mix of deserts. Overall including a soft drink for everyone it was just under €100 which was good value for 4 people, given all we got. Staff where very friendly and service was fast. Will visit again as we always do when in the area.

I couldn't rate this pub/restaurant highly enough, the food was so tasty, the service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The old vintage style of the decor mixed with the modern and the cleanliness of the whole place was fantastic, everywhere was so clean and tidy. There was lots of parking. Definitely a 5* experience

My husband and I stopped into the Templars Inn for dinner on a Saturday evening. The Inn was busy. We were seated promptly. The drinks were good. The staff attentive and friendly. Enjoyed the fish stew and fish and chips. Lots of food, could have had one or the other and been thoroughly satisfied. Husband had the potted crab and fish special - cod with veggies and mash. Both were very good. We recommend this Irish pub for a nice meal. The food really was good.

Lovely views of the ocean from the outside of the Inn. Food is reasonably priced and the staff are very accommodating. Easy access for wheelchair users. Multiple TV’s spread throughout with Sky Channels for all the football games. Well worth the visit for a warm meal.

The best potted crab I have ever tasted and fresh delicate mussels in a light cream and wine sauce. Unreal. We sat at the bar as it was a stop and go visit. You may have to wait a while for a table but it will be so worth it 🦀🦐🐠

We booked a table for 12 and two babies july 2016. Menu was varied, food excellent, very decent prices and service impeccable. craft beers in fridge, choose and bring to counter. There was even a lift back to our accommodation from the owner. Fantastic night.

-READ ME-- Reading the reviews and implore those tempted to read the 1 or 2 ratings to ignore them. I have traveled here from across the sea and can say that this place great. As you walk you in, you are greeted and seated. Decor is relative to that of pubs The service to the point and essentially all you need. The food is delicious, try the specials or try the menu, it's fresh. It's filling and it's delicious. My family enjoyed the haddock and chips and 2 out of 3 couldn't finish the food. The chips are homemade and thick by the way. Salty and soft, no need for extra flavour. I had the special pan fried cod and pea Risotto. Fantastic from the first bite. The portions are pretty big and filling. You are warned haha. If you passing it is a goto to and just enjoy. You got good scenery and always in Ireland...Guinness.

This is such a great find. Invited to lunch by a friend and it was simply great pub food and good staff. Price wise very afordable for two adults and two children with drinks came to 50e...Just to compare for similar meal in Fethard we have paid 65e.The Templars Inn is usually packed,even the seats outdoor may be occupied but this are all good signs of delicious not overpriced food with excellent customer service.Big car park and fantastic view on the bay.Place that needs a visit.100% recommended.

Waiters, however nice, are despairingly slow (15 minutes for an espresso coffee with less than ten people in the place...) and do have a tendency to forget what you ask them, so you have to call on them again and again. Pub is situated by the coast and has a lovely view of the coast, the decor is very traditional and the atmosphere pleasant, the service was great, the waitresses were attentive and prompt, the food was amazing we had the traditional haddock and chips which was accompanied by mushy peas and home made tartar sauce, tasted beautiful, as the for the portion, they were big and hearty, we also order pan fired cod and pea risotto from the daily specials menu and it was exquisite to say the least, excellent value for money and a nice consolation for the disappointment that was Slade castle which is only a few km away,

My only complaint is you can't prebook the outdoor tables which is a shame as I usually have my dogs with me. if you could book I would definitely go more often, but as it stands I can't really make plans
