My husband and i a very good meal there last night. Haven't been there since before pandemic and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food the professional and courteous manner of the staff and the ambience that was created. All in all a great experience..we will be back

Food fantastic, service good. Relaxed atmosphere. Staff began to dim lights and closed one of the doors at 20.50 this made us feel uneasy and took away the relaxed atmosphere we had felt up until then !!

Menu very limited. Bit disappointed. We were not told beforehand that we there was time limit at table. We had just ordered drinks after dinner and we were asked to give up table straight away! Sat outside which was nice but not good being rushed away from dining table. Staff were very friendly was good value for what we had.

We called in advance but were told that they do not take bookings in advance. When we arrived we were told that we could have booked a table in the heated courtyard, however they were fully booked. We decided to eat in the main courtyard (without heaters) but had to wait until they started serving food at 5:30pm (it was just before 5pm when we arrived). Luckily for us that waiters shift ended and we were met with a very pleasant and helpful waitress, who took our orders bang on 5:30pm. The food was impressive. I had the vegan curry, which was very tasty and filling. The others in my party all had burgers and were really happy. Make sure you call a few days in advance to ensure you get a table in the heated area.

McEvoys is by far, the best restaurant in Laois! It's the only place we go to for special occasions. All their food is of the highest quality, especially the steak. Couldn't fault the place. Absolute perfection, everytime!

Went to this place with my boyfriend for a special occasion and we were not disappointed. We were greeted warmly by Simon who guided us through the menu and wine. The food was delicious and I only wish I could have had room for three courses. The value was excellent compared to other places we had seen not too far away and we found the quality/value and atmosphere top class. I had the roast beef which I can highly recommend. It was cooked to perfection. Cannot wait for our return.

Fabulous food. Highly recommend the burger and the deserts are always fantastic too. There is a restroom available. Never too long of a wait for food but is always best to make a reservation to ensure a table. It can be busy if there is a local event on. Very friendly staff a pleasure to be served by. Great for families it isn't massive inside but it's definitely big enough. Always highly recommend to people. They do deals for 2 courses and 3 courses but there is a somewhat limited selection of each dish however every item on the menu is top quality and I'm sure everyone will like something.

Have eaten here many times. As mentioned wings and steaks are top notch. Cooper fries are also a must have. Lovely cosy little bar area with a fire at the front to have a pint or a gin while you wait to be seated. Staff are very knowledgeable and food here is done to the highest standard. Would highly recommend.

Been here more times than I can count using my fingers and even my toes! The food here is outstanding! Every time I pass by it's hard not to drop in for their tasty burgers. If I had a wife with a child or even a child of my own, I'd be sure to bring them here for a great feed.

I’m a self confessed foodie and convivial. On my travels in Ireland, it was recommended that if I ever passed through the midlands that I visited Mc Evoys. It was the highlight of my trip! In short, best food and atmosphere I experienced throughout my entire European trip. My wife and I were truly blown away. Extremely classy ambience, great service and atmosphere, but... the absolute highlight was the food, it was literally the unbelievable. I had a fresh pint of Guinness with chicken wings (great dip) followed by the best steak with pepper sauce I had in Europe!! Safe to say that both my wife and I would highly recommend this restaurant and I’m not someone who leaves reviews very often :) Lovely town too with lots of walks, nice shops and genuine people.

I Visited McEvoys this evening with my ICA Group. Delicious starter and meal. Chef made me fish and chips that was not on the Menu. 2 really pleasant lovely ladies waited on us with extreme patience. Good value for money. I will definitely return. Thank you.

A secret gem. The food is exceptional and exceeds all expectations, highly recommend if you are in the area. The staff are very welcoming and humble, I like that they cater for vegetarian options which is always a plus. Such a homely feel to this restaurant, a very relaxed environment.

A great find in this tiny town. They have a nice menu of steaks, fish and other varied items which they note are sourced locally or at least in Ireland. The steak was excellent as was the special of the day the Seabass for which the whole plate was excellent. The side potatoes and the vegetables were all really good. The potatoes on the side of the steak were probably the least excellent item but still good. Dessert was also good but not as good as the main meal. Be sure to check the opening hours as nothing has regular hours in this town but if it is open be sure to stop by.

5 star restaurant! I popped in here on the way to cork with a friend. Its half way to cork so it broke up our journey and we were starving. We were greeted by a lovely memeber of staff and were brought to a cosy table in the dining room. We had the prawns and wings to start and steak for our mains. omg!! wow. absolutely delicious. The best steak i have had in a very long time. I cant wait to come back again!
