Lovely restaurant with a great selection of fish dishes. I had the cod florentine which was so nicely cooked that was practically melting in the mouth. Very fresh also, the squid chunks we had as starters were not chewy at all. I also got the death by chocolate for desert and honestly I wasn’t expecting such a nice desert at a restaurant that specialises in fish. The staff also was super friendly and accommodating and very welcoming. Super happy with our choice of a small evening getaway and a dinner after a walk around the beach and will definitely visit again soon!
N. L.
got to order the buffall wings and the steak. for the wings it taste the typical buffalo wings and not really exceptional but for the steak, i can say that its a good one. hope to visit again and taste other food in their menu

A great seafood restaurant in a great location right on the harbour. The staff were great and service was excellent. This is a fish restaurant and everything we had, the prawn tempura and cod Florentine was delicious. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the chips were cooked from frozen which was a real letdown. In fairness we had the option of baby new potatoes, or Savoury mash. The quality of the fish deserve 'proper' chips! Definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic seafood. Dublin bay prawns are fantastic. You will need to save up but worth it. Getting a table is a challenge so book if you can.
A. C.
just had a lovely lunch with my wife in this lovely restaurant to day. in fact every time we go to Skerries we always return to this fabulous restaurant. Both had Cod which was so fresh and meaty would literally melt in your mouth.Friendly staff perfect location highly recommend

Lovely lunch, lovely location and lovely staff. Very nice experience. Great memories of singing sea shanties here 60 years ago!
T. S.
Amazing place! Definitely will come back.
The food is delicious, also they have a heated terrace with glass roof and beautiful view on the harbour.
O. H.
Consistently beautiful food off a small menu. Outdoor area could do with a bit more heat but overall very good
E. M.
Food is of a very high standard. My wife can be picky 🤣 and she loved the sea bass prawn and mash and the pavlova. I had the wings; wasnt a huge fan tbh as I perfect the small wing size compared to this larger wing/leg size but flavour was perfect; the warm goats cheese Salad was beautiful and generous portion. It's a little gem and we will definitely be back. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive.
B.
Decent seafood restaurant. Told us they were fully booked when we asked at 5pm on a Sunday, but we got a table after saying we'd be quick. The starters are big and good value if you want to order a few of them instead of a main. The seafood chowder was packed full of big chunks of fish.
C. M. G.
Absolutely gorgeous sea food restraunt. We had Baked Salmon, Crab and trout . Beautiful roasted vegetables and mash potatoes. Wheelchair accessible and toilets. Wheelchair parking on Road. Would highly recommended. Lovely helpful staff.
a. k.
Just gorgeous.
Was out to lunch with a friend for my sixtieth, I haven't been here in a while, nothing has changed, amazing standard of food, and the staff are lovely.
Some things never change.

If fish is your dish ...you won't do better than Stoops! Great spot for grub and a glass or two!!
D. T.
Lovely seafood. A little disappointed no Monkfish available. Great service. Recommend Chowder and Crab claws. Prices ranging from 20 to 28 euro per main course.
G. G. R.
Excellent all around, the location and views are perfect. The Seafood chowder, the mussels and the fish and chips were top notch quality, bravi.
A. C.
Great food. Great service. Straight to our tables after we arrived. Waiters couldnt have been friendlier. 😀😀😀
P. R.
My only gripe is the portion sizes. It's my favourite seafood restaurant on the East Coast. Well worth a visit but book ahead.
D. M.
Seafood heaven
This place is number 1 for food in Skerries. If down Skerries harbour it's a must try.The Dublin bay prawns in garlic butter are melt in the mouth and it does a great pint of Guinness. You just can't beat it on a sunny day in Skerries😎the menu caters for everyone and they also do daily specials aswell. You won't be disappointed🥂🍽🦀

Lovely restaurant for Sea Foods, well cooked and delicious. Highly recommended in Skerries and thank you for the good service. Hoping to comeback soon in my next visit and escape in Skerries.
A. M.
Great place for the food. Mostly fish dishes. Chowder to die for. Mouth-watering cod. Drink aiways good. Beautiful desserts. Superb views over the harbour. Sit and watch the sunset. You might even meet someone famous.I
A. B.
Just had the most delish fresh cod fish and chips here. Waitrons excellent will definitely be back. Thanks all 👍
G. G. I.
Wonderful seafood restaurant in Skerries. It's world famous at this stage but be warned, you can't book a table! Get there early, ask the friendly staff to hold you the next free table and wander up to Joe Mays for a pint of Guinness. Tidal studies at the harbour, followed by arguably the best seafood meal you'll eat. Brilliant
J. J. D.
Food is great! First time.there but you definitely get fed.
E. C.
Great food and very friendly staff. I would highly recommend this place.
R. v. V.
Great food, great vibe, great staff with a very happy atmosphere. The chowder was excellent! 5/5 in our group loved this place.
T. M.
Great food and great service. It's always a pleasure to go there with family and friends.
l. D.
Beautiful food. Fresh fish dishes at reasonable prices served by friendly staff in beautiful seaside setting. Cod dish, seabass and prawn dish were all so tasty. Highly recommend.
k.
The food is lovely here. It is renowned as a seafood restaurant and there are not many options if you dont want fish. Just a word to the wise...
I had the chowder and goan seafood curry and they were both delicious, but i think everthing here is good, so knock yourself out .
A. L.
So, is a sunny day and you just look to have a drink and some food in front of the sea. I hadn’t big expectativas and then WOW one of the best burgers I ever had.
Services was so kind, and the place inside looks really cool.
Highly recommended +++
J. N.
Food was amazing!!!! Staff super friendly! I got pasta. Lots of lovely fish on the menu.
F. M.
Busy place on a Thursday for a nice seafood chowder before getting the evening Stena ferry to Cairnryan just ahead of the storm.
L. P.
Easily the best restaurant of the area. Try the goat cheese salad and soup of the day! Courteous staff as well.
D. C.
Lovely restaurant with beautiful views of Skerries Harbour. Food is always amazing.
A. M. L.
Great bar food. But a little over priced if you ask me.
M. S.
Excellent sea food menu and staff
Reasonably priced
D. M. c.
We had such a lovely experience. Great service, lovely seafood curry looking out to the harbour.
V. “. H.
Best seafood restaurant in Skerries, sorry best restaurant full stop in Skerries. The picture attached is of a Monkfish Scampi, one of the best seafood meals I have ever had and a steal at €18.90.
Casual dining with friendly and efficient staff. Always busy and they do not take bookings, so try to be patient, the views and the food make it worth the wait. My top tip is to skip the queue by looking for a seat at the bar.
J. D.
The nicest fish pie I have ever tasted bar none. What a great location also in Skerries.
L. M.
Had a lovely lunch sitting outside enjoying the view of the harbour - really delicious food. Will be back!
L. P.
My dish: Cod Florentine. Tasty, 18 euro. Good service.
T. N.
Getting cold because of ocean wind and then eat this restaurant’s homemade seafood chowder is one of the best feelings in the world 😂
M. B.
Setting unrivalled, service superb, food delicious and drink very reasonable. Great experience in Stoops if you haven't tried it you are missing an experience you will want to relive again and again, top class.
N. P.
Beautiful food on both occasions used on visit back, really recommend this restaurant.
D. F.
Amazing place for seafood dinner. Between myself and my wife for starter we had seafood chowder and calamari. Chowder was lovely and creamy and packed with chunks of fresh fish. Calamari had a delicious light flavoursome flour coating, not greasy or heavy and beautifully tender. Mains were tempura prawns and dublin bay prawns and crab claws in garlic butter. Huge perfectly cooked, juicy prawns in a crisp light tempura batter and the dublin bay prawns and crab claws, succulent, sweet, meaty and sinfully good. Served in a garlic butter with just the right amount of garlic and a slice of fresh brown bread to mop up the leftovers. Desert of pecan chocolate brownie (shared) was least favourite of the lot, a little on the sweet side. Staff are very friendly too, service wasn't the fastest but nothing to complain about. Only reason for marking it down was the lunch menu. Went there hoping to recreate our delicious meal one lunchtime only to find they serve only a limited lunch menu, which in fairness was still delicious. Succulent flavoursome chicken wings, chowder and a portion of cod and chips that would fill the hungriest of bellies. Service was quite slow at lunch despite being fairly quiet. Other than that would highly recommend this place
M. H.
Highly recommend this place from the amazing food & lovely friendly staff
We didn't have a booking we arrived about 5 o'clock but the staff member who looked after us couldn't have been more professional and accommodating...got table inside
It is spotlessly clean & all covid guidelines followed
We will definately be back again
Would advise to book a table so not to be disappointed
Well done 'Stoop your Head'
M. O. D.
Very pleasent lunch staff lovely food excellant
S. R.
Food always great. A little more expensive & portions not so good as previously. Oddly, the trio open sandwich platter, only contains 2 slices of bread now!
a. P.
Seafood near the harbour, fresh and tasty food, great views and very nice service. Watch out for portion sizes, they are huge!
S. C.
Lovely setting overlooking the sea. Very friendly efficient staff and a great varied selection of delicious food and desserts. Will definitely be back
D. T.
Had a lovly lunch. Prawns were superb and are unequaled. Staff very attentive and nice. All in all a very pleasent experience
I. C.
Great feed of Dublin bay prawns and crab claws pints are good to 😉
D. E.
Hands down the best chowder around. We come here since years and it hasn't changed. Absolute quality!
S. S.
Great staff. Excellent food. Great views
R. J.
The calamari is really good. Nice place to sit and have a meal and a few pints on a nice day.
S.
Food is fabulous, nicest seafood chowder than anywhere in dublin
C. L.
Great seafood menu. Loved the chowder and fish pie. Casual and cosy environment and staff were friendly and accommodating.
m. t.
Very covid conscious. Staff very helpful and friendly. Great service and amazing food. Never fails to please.
G. R.
Great food. You like seafood? You will love stoops
S. H.
Cod and scallop special. Food always good here. But you have to be prepared to wait on a table sometimes, but it is always worth it 👍
L. A.
Great food
Great service
Nice beer
What else do you need to be happy...
E. D.
Attentive, courteous, professional staff. Very good Covid protocol. Delicious food.
A most enjoyable outdoor experience.
E. H.
Always good food. Lovely staff.
N. R.
Fantastic restaurant I Skerries. Food always delicious and beautiful views to the marina.
G. C.
Gorgeous food, great location, lovely atmosphere and surroundings. Staff are a credit to the owners. Great menu with plenty of selection which is excellent value also. Will definitely be returning. Keep up the good work.
C. D.
Great place for food with a lovely view of the sea.
T. M.
Amazing seafood restaurant - always full and super tasty.
H. D.
Love this place. No pun intended. The staff are all so friendly & Efficient. Best fish ever. I nearly always go for the half&half Dublin day prawns & crab claws. Its nice to get a chocolate with the bill
m. h.
Lovely food great staff 😋 👍
R. D.
Been here many times and never any issue with food or service. Food is always delicious. The Dublin Bay prawn and crab claws in garlic butter is on order everytime, delicious. Or just any of their seafood in general. Looking forward to the next time.
J. A. C.
I love stoop your head but it could add more variety to the menu
S. M.
We dropped in on Feb 9 for a quick lunch. I chose the goat cheese platter with nuts and rocket salad. It was absolutely delicious. My two friends let me try the prawns from their dishes and I was amazed-they were exquisitely soft and tender. The espresso coffee was extremely tasty. The view of the harbour outside was wonderful as it was a lovely day outside, but as cars arrived the view was obscured. A great experience and highly recommended.
P. R.
Lovely traditional bar with generally great service. The food is really good, but it doesn't come cheap. Prawns/crab claws and chowder in particular are recommended. The experienced staff are always excellent but some of the newer staff aren't very friendly. It's small enough inside and they don't take bookings, so keep that in mind when planning going out, however, they can add your name to a waiting list and call you as your wait in the bar next door which is great.
M. F.
Consistently great food. Best Scampi in the country. 😋
D. S.
Many times I have eaten in this place with great satisfaction that I needed to finally leave a review. I feel at home every time I step in, all my family and friends love it too, no wonder is always so busy...
Best informal place to eat healthy, tasty seafood in Ireland
C. N.
Excellent food and service as usual. Favorite fish restaurant
S. O.
The most delicious seafood, soo fresh 😋
J. E.
Lovely food, staff very polite will definitely be back
W. C.
Love the food!!! We leave on the coast of Florida and have fresh sea food every week. This restaurant had the best crab claws and prawns we had our whole trip. Services was great and there is a wonderful view on the harbor.
K. M.
Great food in a lovely location. Always busy. Fresh, well-cooked and varied menu. Great views over the harbour. Only downside is that they do not take reservations, so you may have to wait for a table, but well worth it. A local institution. Great prawns.
A. K.
Great atmosphere Had delicious Fish Pie and Mash....very reasonable pricing and the staff are lovely. Very plesent indeed..
K. W.
Lovely place to have dinner lunch or a pint.
T. D.
Excellent food and lovely friendly staff
L. D.
We had a beautiful lunch time meal here recently with our new born son. We where made very welcome and got a lovely seat looking out the window onto the harbour. The food was delicious, both the steak and seafood dishes where excellent.
T.
This is one of my favourite places. The food is great and the service is good. The food is mostly fish although there are some alternatives. They have the standard kid food. There is an outdoor area which is a bit sheltered. It can get very busy (really popular) so it is hard to get a table. Especially for a big group. The toilet is upstairs, but there is a wheelchair accessible toilet downstairs.
M. M. M.
I have only visited here once, and only for a brief period, so this is not a detailed review. I popped in for a couple of pints, on a very sunny day in Skerries, north County Dublin. Stoop The Head is located directly in front of the Harbour, and is easy to find. There are a number of pubs/restaurants along the street, but I chose Stoop Your Head after checking Google Maps. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the environment was very clean. Toilets were up a narrow set of stairs which was a bit of a drawback. Drinks were reasonably priced. We didn't have any food. The only thing lacking, was a bit of atmosphere, but that may have been the timing of our visit. I will definitely go back again, and have food, and provide a better review.
A. O.
Delicious food. The location has gorgeous views, and we watched the sunset over the harbor. As it is very popular, the wait for our party was nearly an hour on a Monday evening.
J. B.
Lovely little restaurant/pub. Excellent food served- I recommend the pate! The seafood is fresh and the service is great. Would recommend. Also, if you are lucky, you might have a beautiful view of the sea while you eat...
M. K.
Very Good
Lovely Staff great Food .
p. c.
Had a lovely meal there today. Thank yous for having us.
A. F.
I don't think I've ever ordered anything other than the prawns and crab claws dish. It's just so tasty. Would definitely recommend for any seafood lovers who are near skerries or far from skerries.
C. B.
Had lunch there Food lovely
l. s.
Beautiful restaurant with gorgeous views of the countryside. Lovely food, great staff so friendly and very professional. Live entertainment and super accommodation. Great deals. I'll be back again soon 🍻😎😁
E. M.
Food was really good I would definitely go again
l. h.
Lovely fish and chips from here!! Great buzz around the place too ! Definitely be back
S. S.
Lovely atmosphere and great food - a throughly nice pub
The staff were warm friendly and helpful and the beer great. I had the moules marinere and my mate the fish pie. Both dishes were served promptly, were nicely presented and with lovely flavours. Quantities were more than adequate. Nice views from the bar across Skerries harbour. When back in Skerries, I will certainly visit again
P. M.
I had prawn tempura, partner had open prawn sandwich, friend had chicken nuggets. Prawn sandwich was perfect, the tempura was good but expensive for 8 prawns, €18.70. For desert partner had pavlova I had berry crumble. The pavlova was okay but the berry crumble was nothing more than stewed fruit with a bit of porridge, it was inedible.
R. B.
Lovely spot for lunch, just over the road from the harbour. Their seafood chowder is excellent. They have tables out front on the pavement but also a nice little terrace, set back a bit from the road, covered by glazing, and semi-open to the pavement.
G. J.
Our first visit following a recommendation & I can absolutely see why it's so popular. Lovely food (especially the fish options which are extensive), great service and a beautiful seafront view.
G. C.
Great seafood. Beautiful view.
S. O.
Oh yeah... Amazing Chowder!! Great place... Love it...
M. S.
Fab as ever really great food and service 😀
C. O.
I came here while on vacation for the holidays in Ireland. I noticed the service to be very slow and not very attentive, but the food was great, hence the 3 star review. The seafood chowder and salmon were both excellent and the chocolate cake for the dessert was very tasty!
T. M.
Food excellent. Scampi was wonderful! Staff were great!
S. B. (. B.
Disappointed with the size of the portions for what you pay.
A. K.
Was ok - food not as good as I was expecting and service was adequate, although I do expect my cutlery to be positioned properly rather than in a pile on the table.
Left a good cash tip to which I received a moderate response.
My experience here will not be everlasting and I doubt I will be returning.
B. N.
Very tasty lunch with outside tables that are protected from the sea breeze. Definitely recommended before or after a walk along the front!
J. R.
Good traditional Irish food and seafood. We had the chowder and catch of the day. You don't need to have chips with your meal and an choose from different types of potatoes, which was a needed respite after a week in Ireland.
B. D.
Great seafood! No reservations but worth the wait! Another super benefit of living in Skerries! Love this place when sun is going down, views are stunning!
R. H.
Stoop your head offer a great selection of fish caught by the skerries fishermen themselves.
The restaurant overlooks the sea down by the harbour in skerries with great bars like Joe Mays beside you and food from here your bound yo have a great night out .weekends do be busy and youll see why once you taste the food ...youll also be coming back for more , its not exspensive and offer a great portion.
Its known that some famous faces do be floating about the area also .
Staff are friendly and want you to have the best experience at the restaurant that you possibly can have.
If i can give you any more advice its to get the chowder you can give this review a thumbs up if yiu like it ...which you will ....further more enjoy !
J. B.
Always a nice place to eat on a cold day. Great food, nice atmosphere (even on a quiet Monday afternoon in January). Would be great if there were more vegetarian options.
M. N.
The food is amazing, make sure to try a fish-dish as this is where Stoop really excels. The pub is quaint, friendly and has a great atmosphere. Well-worth a visit if nearby, or even worth travelling to specifically.
W. L.
Delicious chowder and fish & chips!!! I would have given another star but the service was slow - people that came in 15 minutes after us were served well before we were. Otherwise, the service was friendly.
E. B.
A cosy pub with beautiful sea views. Very friendly staff. Great Guinness. The seafood is fresh, highly recommeded. Only one note - and this is common in almost all seafood restaurants in Ireland - why don't they serve a whole grilled fish of the day?? It would be so popular. Instead menus usually only have shellfish and fillets. Missing a trick there I think. Besides that I would gladly make the trip from south Dublin to Skerries just to visit the Stoop again.
D. D.
Don't know why the older lady serving us didn't look me in the eye but continued talking to an elderly couple sitting beside us and thrust the menu at me sideways without so much as a how do you do. After that had no dealings with her and were very happy with the waitress and cashier.
J. S.
Best food and service for lunch and dinner. Probaby the best Dublin Bay Pawns. Quiet place but busy. No reservations. Usually a wait after 6pm but well worth it.
e. m.
Wouldn't have thought it was all it's cracked up to be ,had to sit at the bar, seafood chowder was just ok a bit too creamy for me. Partner had cod and chips said the same just ok. Would not put it on my list to revisit!!
B. B.
I ate fried calamari and scampi..scampi were fresh and yummy but...not worth the price. Combination of small portions and high prices is not too good..unless the food was extraordinary good..but mine was just "ok", hence the 3 stars.
l. o.
Fish is so fresh & cooked to perfection. Love it.
M. K.
Very good Restaurant. Always extremely busy and you can't make reservations. So bring some time as the place is busy but well worth the wait. Deducted one star as on my last visit got overcharged despite mentioning the error. Was only couple of Euros but matter of principle.
S. o.
Always top quality service and food. Seafood chowder a must have. Will be trying the seafood pie next time.
R. D.
Without doubt some of the best seafood on the East coast of Ireland. A little treat of a place. Especially if you catch it with the sun going down and leeside of the wind. Another aspect is the Guinness is as good as you get outside of Dublin itself. Put together with great seafood and good service makes for a good way of winding away a sunny afternoon. Or rainy it being Ireland after all.
H. S.
Outstanding food, especially if you like fish, which was as excellent as i have had anywhere. This applies across the board as we all had different dishes and everyone was raving about it afterwards
k. k.
Friendly locals, great food - I had Asian Chicken Salad which was delish and the Pavlova. Nice view right in front of little harbor port. Pleased we chose to go in.
S. S.
If you're anywhere within reach of Skerries this is where you should eat. Fish pie has become a frequent part of our menu here at home taught to us by several visits to Stoop Your Head with an analytical discussion being part of our wonderful evening meals there. We're on the far side of an ocean from Stoop Your Head but I hope to surprise my wife with tickets to Ireland so we can come back to this fabulous restaurant. Just the name itself has become part of our routine language.
d. c.
Not a good place for really tall people.... how ever ... the service was excellent.... and the menu was great I love fish... and the fish curry ...& The chowder were excellent...I would be planning another visit .
D. S.
Had hake & chips take-away. A bit pricy (€12) but really delicious.
K. C.
The food is excellent, consistently. You can't book but if you have to wait on a table they will send you down to Joe Mays pub and call you when the table is ready so it's not all bad
B. S.
I visited there on the 27th October 2014 with my daughter . We had a one course meal and had two seats at the counter as there were no seats available which we didn't have a problem with. I felt we were ignored by the younger staff apart from one lady who was a bit older. She took our order and was pleasant. the others just passed up and down by us . We could have been invisible. We felt they were all locals and as we weren't regulars we didn't count.
P. K.
Calmars were the best what I eat! (I eat before in Italy, croatia, holland, poland and few other country). Taste was perfect. Soup was delicious! I eat before in two other places in Irland (also top reataurant) here taste was amazing! Deser perfect! People amazig! Smile on the face, take about customer with familly rules. I wanna back to you in the future!
C. G. D.
Great restaurant with always consistent high quality food. Thanks to Sophie for squeezing us in. Great service Sophie 👏
M. O.
All lovely had to wait for seat as very busy at 2.30 but worth the wait
K. D. A.
Ha...would you believe as my 8 year old son asked why the restaurant is called 'stoop your head', well, someone didn't and they smacked their head unfortunately onto the low-hanging door frame. In addition, the food was great.
T. M.
Fantastic food and service. The staff are extremely nice.
I. T.
Food, staff and settings ticked all the right boxes
M. C.
Lovely restaurant always nice food.
Would love if you could book a table in advance. The reason for 3 stars is the wait for a table.
L. K.
No bookings taken but always worth waiting for! Superb consistently excellent food served by friendly efficient staff in a lovely sea location. Can't wait till next visit.
B. C.
Great spot this is right on harbour wall and you really get a feel for Skerries plus the menu and food and really good. Gets very busy and if not booked you will need to queue.
M. S.
Visit every couple of months and noticed portion sizes are shrinking. Great atmosphere by the harbour. Friendly service and food ok but has been better in past visits.
Z. G.
Very pleasant meals expecially seafood
Place needs a bot of cleaning and refurbishment but overall great place to eat and sitting outside under the glass roof is fab
B. M.
Great spot. Well worth a visit. Great food and service with full Covid-19 safety precautions in place.
H. K.

Good food..we had fresh fish and chips and it was very nice..can be hard to get a table though.
T. D.
Well worth the wait for a table if you arrive late, as the food will hit your taste buds like a dream. Staff friendly and helpful
E. W.
Always gorgeous - be prepared to wait for a table. It's always full and they dont take bookings over the phone. Worth the wait every time.
J. H.
Very nice no complaints very good service will be back
C. M.
Very good food.. bit expensive but the service was warm and friendly
D. D.

Lovley food . Really enjoyed every bit of my goat cheese salad with almonds . An extra bonus is lovley view on the bay . Pretty groovy place .
V. C.
Excellent experience, nice food. Liked the seaside view as well.
P. M.
The fish. Go for the fish. Any of it. All good. No reservations so pop in, ask for a table then wait by the fire in Joe Mays until your table is ready. Did I mention the fish ?
P. O.
I live in skerries and I think it's one of the best restaurants in Dublin and also it's near storm in a tea cup which was given the award for the best ice cream in Ireland
m.
Fabulous food. Great service
P. G.
Excellent food as usual.
C. P.
The place is cosy and inviting and the Seafood Chowder is absolutely out of this world! Their Pavlova is also divine! Super well done! ☺☺
y. b.
Fantastic presentation, delicious food. Took a while for staff to get to us, but I think they were understaffed
E. W.
Lovely staff. Excellent food. They are there a long time and they have it just right...
