S. V.The food was ok. The employees are amazing and they know how to value the customers, however they should improve the quality of the food, please at least heat up the food before you serve. We ordered 2 Chicken burger and one plate of chicken wing, and by the time we get the food it was already cold. The plates looks really old not sure whether this is intended, but at least for us it looked odd as we initially thought they are not cleaned. And the table wasn't cleaned well. So overall I am happy and I wouldn't recommend.

Had the chicken salad to start and the Beef Gyro for mains; probably too much food for one person unless you're ravenous. My wife fell in love with the raspberry and white chocolate mousse. Hooked was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Sligo.
A. Z.On a short return visit to Sligo, I was looking to go somewhere nice, somewhere maybe a bit different than your usual ff restaurant.
#Hooked was recommended to me on the base that they serve nice chicken fillet burgers.
It was indeed the thing that I've ordered. I can only say that it was one the best burgers I've been eating in my life. It was delicious, full of chicken (surprisingly it is not always obvious with some places) and side salad was just as delicious.
I've to say, waiting time was a bit long but it was worth it for sure.
Place was packed, which I wasn't surprised with at all considering the quality of food and all staff being nice and helpful.
Which also was nice to me, all waiting staff was smiling and focus on serving customers.
This place is definitely worth going to if you are looking for nice food served by equally nice and happy people.

The staff were really polite and helpful when we asked for recommendations of what to try, as well as being friendly and interested in making sure we had a good experience while there.
If you are dining out in Sligo you have to try this establishment. 5/5 or even better in my opinion.
A. T.Wunderful atmosphere, suberb staff, and the food is great, too. It is a bit on the pricier side, but the quality and quantity are worth the couple of Euros more that you pay here. I had a phantastic fish and chips, with fries and mushy peas. The fish was humongous and the batter was crunchy and tasty. It came with a tartar sauce that was a bit on the Salty side. All in all a very great experience.

Good specials on the day that were replaced with more options as the number of plates were ordered. Really interesting decor inside. Would 100% recommend if you are in Sligo.

The staff were very attentive for my first visit and could not have provided any better service, excellent manner and professionalism.

F. K.Excellent restaurant, you know the way some restaurants are all the same menu wise, well this one isn't. Nothing weird but a fresh take. We had 2 nibbles instead of a starter, loaded sourdough and pork bits, loads for the 3 of us. Really tasty. The mains were pork rib, beef gyro an chicken pasta. They had fancier name on the menu. All were excellent. Staff and the owner were friendly and helpful. We shared a dessert raspberry and white chocolate mousse, fresh and delicious. All produce is local.

L. L. C.Such a nice place to have lunch. This place have its own style and it is in a lovely position if you are exploring Sligo. The food was really good (we had the "12 hours cooked pork belly"). We didn't like the fries because they tasted like cod (they were fried in the same oil?).

Wifi and plugs were about the place - and I am sure if we had asked we could have used them. The coffee was of a nice consistancy, as was the tea. The portion size of the special (chicken salad sandwitch and soup) was enough for a bigger eater and the cornbeef was enough for a lighter eater. Loved the electro swing music, low enough for conversation. Value for quality is amazing, and really appreciate their practices of responsible food sourcing and food waste avoidance.

It's a testament to good customer service as to how a place deals with an issue when something doesn't go right. We ordered soft drinks with the meal and they didn't arrive, however we didn't notice until well into eating. At that stage it didn't matter ( there was tap water on the table when we arrived). On asking for the bill, the waitress apologised profusely. When she brought the bill she made a deduction for the mistake, though we hadn't asked for such, only to ensure the drinks were not on the bill. Well done Hooked for smooth handling and obvious focus on customer service.

After reading a paragraph for every dish of a very descriptive menu you have certain expectations; hence the losing a star.

D. L.Fantastic dining experience. Original menu. Cozy decor. I had the snack box! This is like a posh version of your chipper snack box with battered chicken thighs, delicious burger sauce and slaw but certainly not greasy. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Ireland were playing New Zealand in rugby and the restaurant was not busy so we were very lucky to have extra special attention from the staff and the perfect table overlooking the river Garavogue. We were visiting from Dublin. Our first time in Sligo and the info our waiter provided about what to see and do was gold dust. Thanks so much. Also they have Sligo's own White Hag beers on draft. 9th wave and Little Fawn.

B. O.If you're hungry, pay these guys a visit! We started off with the goat's cheese salad and pork belly bites, both were superb and we were feeling a bit full after. We both ordered fish and chips for mains, the batter was nice, crisp and light. It also came with mushy peas, lovely and good portion of chips. They have a nice relaxed atmosphere and a good selection of local beers too, staff are friendly and service is good.

Neither myself or my boyfriend are seafood eaters which is what this place specialises in but I had the regular burger and he had chicken and both were delicious! I had pork belly bites on the side though andd they were the jewel in the crown, took them home with me just so I could have them for lunch the next day they were that good!

The food was amazing we had the chicken wings and pulled pork for starter, huge portions and super tasty. We then had the chicken box and fish and chips. Again huge portions and very tasty, the batter on my fish was so light and the chips were lovely. The house red wine was very good. Can't say enough good things about this place. Go! You won't be disappointed

K. M.Very nice setting. Excellent service. I like simple menus but this is a bit too limited. I had prawn cocktail and butternut squash cannelloni. Prawn cocktail was a so called modern twist on the old classic but a bit of guacamole in the bottom of the glass is hardly inventive. Cannelloni tasted nice but the dish is a bit of a mess - too much thrown in there. The immediate impression is seafood but there isn't a great seafood offering. The white hag session IPA was a bit flat too and I know how it should be served. Coffee was good. 3.5 stars rounded to 4.

T. W.For a seafood themed restaurant, the seafood on offer was limited to fish and chips and salmon. The fish and chips were good but the spiced potato soup was awful and I put it aside two spoons in but they still saw fit to try and charge me for it!
B. O.Four of us went to Hooked today . Mothers day . Fish and chips highly recommended. Men said burger was good . Service was absolutely terrible . We wanted dessert couldn't get menu . Then left and went to a different restaurant for tea and dessert . Not good business . Don't think we will visit again

E. C.Have visited a few times now, and to be honest, it's been a mixed bag. My sons have tried the fish and chips, which they say is lovely. I have had the sausage roll, which was possibly the most unappealing looking meal I've ever been presented with, and another time had a sausage linguine special, which was excellent. I'd be more than willing to return and try other specials, but the main menu itself doesn't do much for me, although I'm sure plenty of people will find lots to like about it.
The decor is great but the table layout is poor. Too many tables have been squeezed in and I spent a fair bit of my last visit moving my chair to let people pass, or ducking to allow waitresses through with plates, which is far from conducive to a relaxing lunch.
Coffee was excellent.

We sat down to eat and the owner actually served us our food. Friendly people, friendly atmosphere. I hope I get a chance to go there again soon.

A. C.Came by this place on a sunny day in June while having a look through Sligo. Nice seating area out in the square to enjoy the sun. Coffee was pretty good but what stood out was when it came time to pay and I inquired about the local beers on tap. Was a bit too early for beer so he ran into the back and gave me a few cans of local craft beer. Reached into my pocket to pay and he wouldn't have it. Just said enjoy the beers!

Starters of pork belly bites and garlic bread very tasty but garlic bread came with chilled pesto which was a bit unnecessary and didn't really compliment the flavour of the lovely melty garlic butter. Fish and chips for mains were lovely and fish perfectly cooked in a nice light batter- not too crunchy. Chicken burger however, was absolutely doused in extra garlicky aioli that totally overpowered any other flavours
Nice wine selection & desserts were good . Had a pleasant evening but was a bit disappointed to see sexist signs for the loos- "Prosecco and shopping " for women and "beer and football" for the men. Just thought it was a bit stereotypical in this day and age and didnt fit with modern casual dining in a place that us otherwise nicely decorated.

A. M.9 people sitting in the outside area of this restaurant the food was top Notch with a 10 out of 10 and the drinks were equal we really couldn't fault it in any way even though our waiter spoke no English in any way shape or form but we got through it and a nice guy he was.
However when it came to paying the presumed owner a man in his mid 40s would not split the bill for our party of 9. This was a problem for us and it caused mass confusion because of this, other customers could not pay as we were all in the queue trying to figure out how to solve this problem the owner was in Absolutely no way helpful and didn't care how we had to solve this problem it may seem nothing but the bill was €135. Not everybody carries cash with them in the year 2019. So we all had to figure out some way of paying this very ignorant and unhelpful man. At one point we considered not paying at all and leaving. I asked one of of the members of his staff are very nice girl and i said to her "what is he like as your employer" she threw her eyes up to heaven and said "he's hansy" take that anyway you want but this was our experience. If he had of split the bill I would have brought my family there for Sunday lunch next week as it was lovely but we have all now boycotted this inconvenient place.. but as I said the food is 100%
i.Popped in on a Sunday stroll around sligo with a rather late breakfast in mind and boy am I glad I found this place. The food was excellent the staff were great and I will be returning to share the experience with the people I love, top job guys you left a mark

S. S.August 2019- we were a group of 12 people visiting the area and looking for dinner on a Saturday evening in Sligo. When other restaurants had unceremoniously dismissed us, our lovely host Daryl cheerfully accommodated us with seating outside (as the restaurant was full). We were wrapped in blankets and served great food and wine. Daryl and his team were super efficient and totally made our evening for us. Thanks Daryl!
