I got my beautiful flower tattoo done on 30th December,2021. The staff at AWOL are very friendly, specially Johnny from whom i got my tattoo done. He is simply brilliant at his art/work, love his work, he made me really comfy during the session and afterwards as well. I highly recommmend this place for tattoo as I had an amazing experience over there. Love you guys. Hope to see you soon for my third tattoo. Thanks a million to you all.

I got my first tattoo here a few weeks back. Angus, The tattoo artist was thorough with planning the tattoo and suggested a more suitable placement for the tattoo to assure that it would look good from every angle. Had a great conversation with Angus who was friendly and had many interesting things to say. Once the tattoo was done, Angus went through the aftercare process with me multiple times despite the fact that it was 6pm (closing time). Very reasonable price considering the amount of time and effort poured into this tattoo.I couldn't have had a better experience and would definitely recommend AWOL tattoos. Altogether, a lovely place with even more lovely staff 😊

Had an amazing experience getting my septum pierced in AWOL by Robbie! He was extremely polite and went through every detail of the process with me, including getting the piercing, aftercare etc. The receptionist (unfortunately never caught their name) was very polite too regardless of me booking very last minute 🙈 as soon as you walk in you can tell how clean and sterile the environment is! Overall I had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back for further piercings!!

One of the best service and professional piercers I have seen till now and omg I did not even feel a pinch of pain while piercing ..i was actually shocked that whether my piercing was completed or not ..the staffs are so friendly and did not make me feel stressed out even for a second...I will always recommend AWOL for both tattoos and piercing , not because they are are best but instead because they treat you just like their own family member or a dear friend. Such a great place for piercings! I’ve had several done here over the years and have never had a bad experience. Any problems with keloids, downsizing and replacing jewellery and dealt with swiftly and efficiently. Have been pierced here a few times, and recently got a custom tattoo and could not recommend AWOL enough. All the staff are lovely, professional, and make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in the door. I had this masterpiece done few days ago by @johnnytrendkill and I can't recommend enough both him and the studio. I felt welcomed and cared for by literally everybody in the place. The atmosphere is relaxed and professional, and these guys seem to be deeply in love with what they do and with making people happy. As for @johnnytrendkill, the tattoo speaks for itself, and he is patience, inspiration and professionalism personified. Also knowledgeable about Star Trek, which is saying something.

The stafe were amazing very clean. I would recommend going to AWOL for all your pircing as the percer was fantastic. She made me feel comfortable and it didn't not heret as bad. I was very happy with how sanitary evrything was I loved that she changed the glove after pircing one ear and then using a fresh glove on the other ear. Great experience in AWOL today. Steph was very professional, calm and reassuring. She emailed me my booking form before hand, explained the process and gave me my time slot. When I arrived Steph checked my temperature, gave me my allocated social distanced seat and made sure that the shop was never over capacity. I have nothing but high praise for AWOL and its staff! Everyone was so helpful, so kind, and really made us feel welcome. This was not my first tattoo, but it was for my daughter and they were fantastic with her! Jess is a rockstar and helped us get appointments on short notice - since we were traveling overseas to visit, her communication was clear and was exactly what I'd hoped for to take the worry out. We each were getting different tattoos, and Gerard took the same care and time with each of us to make sure we were well cared for. He is an incredible artist with an excellent attention to detail - I never had someone go over their work 2 and 3 times to make sure it met their high standards. That set a new bar for me. He was really great with my daughter and made sure placement was perfect as well as the detail that he put into hers. It was such a great experience for a father & daughter to have; both of us are so, so happy we chose AWOL and got to meet Jess and Gerard! We only just got back home and I'm trying to figure out how to get back over so he can do the leg piece we talked about. Thank you for making us feel so welcome! We *will* be back

I’ve had so many recommendation to go to this place for piercings and tattoos by almost everyone that I know in Galway. I recently got my septum pierced and as someone who does NOT deal well with pain of any sort, it’s safe to say I’ll be returning to AWOL for any piercing or tattoos needs. I asked every question under the sun and everyone from the front desk manager to the piercer answered my inquiries with patience and respect, and never made me feel silly for asking them. The set up was pristine, and the piercer (Robbie) took his time making sure that I was comfortable. All in all the process took about 15 minutes, I felt very little pain, and look forward to going back for my next piercing/tattoos!

I went to have an infected piercing removed that I had not had done there. They were very kind, both the girls who attended me and the guy who removed the piercing with a lot of patience because it was very swollen and in bad condition. So I appreciate the kindness, the time spent and that they have not charged me anything.

I cannot recommend AWOL highly enough! I got my first piercings here last year and every single staff member was so welcoming and professional. The studio is so clean and they explain everything clearly, from what the piercing involves to aftercare. I had to have surgery and treatment for a brain tumour this year, which required removal of my piercings. Boo was so helpful in responding to all my messages and questions about having retainers fitted and they even gave me recommendations on reputable sites from which I could get glass ones for longer periods of wear. I appreciated it so much, as although keeping my piercings may seem trivial in that context, it was important to me and my self-image! They were always happy to help me get them sized correctly, fitted and removed. Some of my lobe piercings closed throughout my treatment - I expected I would have to have them repierced, but Miz managed to reopen one, which was amazing! Long story short, brilliant place and amazing staff!

I had a flat done here over a year ago and it was done so beautifully! Had a great experience with Miz, who was incredibly professional and so nice! Really calmed my nerves. The piercing healed quickly too! Came back recently after having gotten 3 new piercings in another country in September which were not done well AT ALL and were incredibly sensitive (they were recommended by a friend and the reviews were great but that particular piercer was brutal). I was lucky to once again be dealt with by Miz and once again had an amazing experience. They were so kind and understanding, gave me great advice and switched out all of my jewellery with me. They talked me through the painful bits and before I knew it my ears felt so much better!!! Healing has been going well since! I was in Ireland this week for a work conference and randomly decided to do the ultimate “touristy” thing and get a tattoo to honor my first overseas trip with my 4 year old. I don’t like spur of the moment tattoos, but I researched local shops and decided to take a chance as a walk in today. As fate would have it, Lorcan had a last minute cancellation and he agreed to knock out my request. In my researching, I had found his work and was STOKED he was the one who would be doing my tattoo. He took my idea, made changes to it so it would match the style of my sleeve, and knew exactly what I was looking for. The session was seamless and I felt comfortable in the chair. I have never posted a Google review before, but AWOL deserves it. This place is INCREDIBLE!!! I'm in Galway for two days with extremely limited free time, but they were all so accommodating! Jess knew how badly I wanted to make this happen, and she worked really hard to squeeze me in. When I arrived, the shop was so clean and chill and the people were so welcoming and friendly! They worked to make sure I got exactly what I wanted and how I wanted it. Gerard (@laidback_lines) was completely willing to do whatever I needed, but also knowledgeable enough to be able to explain the pros and cons of different placements and sizes. He knew exactly what he was doing and was completely professional. I cannot recommend AWOL Tattoo enough. I have four other tattoos from different people and places, but this was by far the best experience I've had in every aspect, specifically the service, people, and tattoo. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Absolutely lovely staff I can't get over how warm and welcoming they are it really makes a difference, such excellent service and lovely energy it was just a small change of my monroe diamond, piercer had lovely green hair but I didn't get her name! So lovely with such attention to detail and precision and reception staff aswell, absolutely lovely. I really felt welcomed and cared for even on a walk in. It's so evident staff really care. A great selection of jewellery aswell, parlour so clean and again the most professional staff I've encountered anywhere in a long time. I love the work Steve has done, he is a fantastic artist. Every detail is checked and carefully considered before he touches the ink! I got my very first piercing here today, and I'm so glad I went to AWOL to get it. Initially, I made contact through email, the staff were enthusiastic and quick to respond. When I went in for my appointment I was struck by how clean the shop is, and how efficiently it is run. My piercer was very patient and explained the whole process and also the healing process. A great experience overall, and something tells me I'll be back for more!

Excellent service. My daughter got her ears pierced for the first time recently. They were kind and helpful. The piercing specialist (what is the official term?), was very patient. Miz answered all of my daughter's questions and explained every step in the process. She put on a longer bar to allow for swelling, and offered to downsize it for free in a few weeks. My favourite part is that the earring is flat on the back. This makes it much more comfortable for sleeping, and less likely to catch on clothing as she gets used to the piercing. NB They do not accept card payments. There are cash machines close by. Highly recommend this for your child's first piercing. Very safe, clean, considered and top quality.

I’ve gotten many tattoos from many different studios and never have I had the experience I had in AWOL! I had the most amazing experience from start to finish, that being with Jess at front of house and my fab artist Ryan! I felt like I walked in to a room full of friends I’ve known forever. Aside from that, I got the most unreal tattoo off Ryan (and a therapy session neither of us booked in for) but I genuinely will never go to another studio again! Ryan is one of the most talented artists I’ve ever had the pleasure of receiving a tattoo from and I hope he doesn’t mind me making him the only person I’ll ever want to get tattoos off!!! EDIT. Not sure why this is only showing as a couple of days ago, I posted this review over a year ago. I stand by everything I said and am now up to tattoo number 12 with AWOL and planning number 13. Cannot recommend AWOL highly enough. I've just had my 6th tattoo done here, first 2 were by Steve and last 4 by Ryan. Both were so professional, knowledgeable and most importantly passionate about what they do. It's always a pleasure having Ryan tattoo me, the time flies by as we have the chats and you can tell he loves what he does. So much so that I chose one from his flash for my latest and gave him free rein to do what he thought best... he did not disappoint, I absolutely love it. And can't give a review for AWOL without mentioning Jess, the manager/receptionist... the one who keeps track of all the appointments etc, she is amazing at what she does and like everyone in AWOL, just so nice. Have also had a helix and daith piercing in their piercing studio across the road and again, like the tattoo studio, all so nice and professional and excellent at their art/profession. If you're thinking of a tattoo or piercing then look no further than AWOL and Ryan in particular for tattoos. 💚

Fantastic service. I was a walk in appointment, from opening the door to walking back out with my tattoo was only 1 hour even though they were busy. Staff couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommend AWOL Piercings, a very warm welcome from informative super helpful staff. A detailed explanation of what to expect when I was getting my nose pierced, I expected it to be painful, it wasn't! It was done in seconds! I have no idea why I waited so long!!! I got my septum done here today and from contact to the very end, my messenger and piercer Aine, was absolutely incredible. The place also smells of detol/ cleaning products which made me feel very safe/comfortable. I messaged them to book an appointment as I was visiting Galway for 2 days and Aine, On Instagram, let me know the earliest appointment available which was at 11:45am! It was great as it left me the whole day to tour! When I arrived at the parlor, I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist (who’s hair I adored by the way), and while I waited because I was a few minutes early, they let me check out rings and made sure that if I had any questions or concerns that they’d be answered! I was then greeted by Aine and brought into the room to have my piercing! Aine made great conversation, distracting me from my anxiety. They talked through the whole process with me, explaining everything they were doing and even hyped me up at the end. All and all, great experience! Amazing and friendly staff! Lovely safe space (loved the pride flags and decor)! I definitely recommend Awol to people and especially first time piercers. Thank you AWOL 💜💜💜

I don't ever leave reviews but I felt Awol deserved one so here it is... I went here with my friend today, I was so nervous but the staff were absolutely brilliant. I don't remember their names as I was so nervous but we were sitting in the waiting area and the lady behind the counter was tending to other customers while we waited for the piercer, she was so knowledgeable and professional, she was able to help every customer with their queries. We then went into get the piercing done, I had a little diva moment when I was deciding whether to get the piercing done or not and the piercer was 100% professional and did not put me under any pressure, she gave us advice on our piercings but she could tell that we were not taking any of it in so she told us that she would send us an email with aftercare advice, which was sent to us within about 10 mins. Sorry for the long review, I was just so overwhelmed by the service we got there today. I would certainly recommend Awol after the treatment we received today, thanks guys

I've had 21 piercings here over the last few years. Been pierced by Sinead, Aine and Robbie and been helped by apprentice Miz when I lost some jewellery. I have never had a bad experience here and they always put me right at ease. Pain is at a minumum and their aftercare explanation is top notch. Everything is so clean and the staff are so friendly. I mostly deal with Steph and Robbie and couldn't ask for better. I would highly recomment AWOL for piercings, I certainly won't be going elsewhere 💯
