We had the pleasure of touring the west coast of the Republic of Ireland and parts of Northern Ireland with Thomas Duffy who runs the tour company with his brother and sister. We spent five days on the road with Tommy and had an amazing time. Starting in Kerry, where he was flexible enough to change the pick-up location at the last minute, we traveled through parts of the Ring of Kerry, Galway, Doolin, Sligo, Derry and Belfast. We got to see the Cliffs, the Rock of Cashel, Yeats' burial site, Ashford Castle, Markree Castle (a must), Giant's Causeway and so many other wonderful places. Tommy could not have been more accommodating to our needs and our self-planned itinerary. He steered us away from places that would have been merely "tourist traps" and recommended places that were truly worth seeing. We learned so much about Irish history and geography from Tommy who personalized everything for us. And he always had great suggestions for lunch and dinner. We even got treated to coffee at his family's drive through coffee shop! The Mercedes van we traveled in was very luxurious and comfortable. Trying to drive in this part of the country would have been a mess for us. If you are looking for an experienced driver/guide to provide an in-depth and personal tour of the island, reach out to the Duffy Tour Group. You will NOT be disappointed.
